I still reserve my opinion in this case, I can understand using the Ford brand to put a foot in the door but he still used the Ford brand to put a foot in the door.

But maybe not a foot THROUGH the door. That could be all the difference.

From the Globe and Mail: Michael Ford is everything his uncles Rob and Doug are not

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...-uncles-rob-and-doug-are-not/article27418742/

Michael Ford: “Football wasn’t really my cup of tea,” he said, in perhaps the least Fordian sentence ever spoken.
Michael Douglas Aldo Ford Stirpe dropped the “Aldo” and the “Stirpe.”

i wonder where the aldo came from...

also... this article says...
Michael Ford, meeting The Globe and Mail at one of the schools he represents, drives a much smaller, white Jeep.
so what happened to...
I’ve recently committed to giving up my car—a red Camaro Nana gave me for my 17th birthday—and taking public transit everywhere I go.

Maybe Ennio Stirpe insisted on giving him at least one Italian name? Dropping Stirpe is no great loss, considering that it is perhaps one of the most nondescript Italian family names ever (stirpe means family, lineage, stock).

As for the car, he probably realized he wouldn't be able to get everywhere he needed to be as a TDSB trustee by transit, so he needed to drive, just something less flashy and more economical than the Camaro.

What a puff piece in the Globe. No questions about what his goals or accomplishments as Trustee after a year on the Board. All safe and non-committal answers to everything. I guess that semester "doing" political leadership did the trick!

First clue to Mikey - he was raised by Diane and Doug Sr. with mom in the garage apartment.

Won't say anything about Rob and Doug because he's making $26,000/yr as a trustee and can't afford Gran and Uncle Doug reducing his allowance.

He starts the next second round of chemo "later this week," so I'd guess the chances of him making it to the next meeting of Council (scheduled for December 9th and 10th) are pretty slim. But since they'll be debating the Rates Budgets for 2016, we can probably expect another uncharacteristically grammatical press release from Ford decrying the inevitable increases.

Maybe someone should tell Robbie again that being on council is a participatory activity, like democracy, and chose your actions accordingly.
