Rob Ford's Toronto

Kory T's such a knob. I can't understand why the press doesn't just start giggling every time he opens his mouth. "People were tired of Harper." No buddy, we despised him and saw that he was dangerous.

Does anyone else wonder if terminating the Long Form Census in 2010 played any role in some of the gaffs in party strategies? specially for CONS Etobicoke fiasco?

In Bob Rae's victory as ONDP leader, apparently their polls showed they were heading for a majority two weeks before the vote, and they didn't believe them.

So one Ford looks like a tool for blaming Obama for the Jays loss and Doug "insults" Trudeau by comparing him to Obama. We are entering Kimmel territory, folks!
#thanksobama is pretty well-known online meme.

Which means the tweet has nothing to do with Rob himself, as I'm sure he's clueless about online memes in general, let alone how they work. He would never think of that himself.

I largely agree with @sweetlou except I think he must at least know that someone is tweeting from his official account. By now with all the Jays' games he's attended and places he's gone to, someone must have told him "I love your tweets" or "it was funny when you tweeted that thing about [whatever]" -- his supporters will love whatever he does, and much of the general public probably doesn't know that it's not him doing the actual posting. He must at least be aware of it. It wouldn't be that hard for him to check his page once every few days (from a desktop computer, not a phone) just to monitor it. Or maybe Renata does it and tells him about it. Remember, they had Fickel in their house to fix a computer.

Ford's tweet regarding the Jays and Obama was so childish. WTF does Obama have to do with the Jays? He's a White Sox fan, not a Royals fan.

It is feeble plagiarizing from a meme started by a US parody Twitter account ("Top Conservative Cat") that skewers Tea Party types, often by assigning absurd blame to Obama. In this case it was a "thanks Obama" tweet for the Cubs losing to the Mets. McEacheran is much given to plagiarizing (he does not seem to be able to say anything other than in cliched phrases - making him a perfect fit with the Fords), but in the case of Rob's Twitter account it probably was "Chief of Staff" Dan.

The GTA saw more of Harper in the last 2 months than in the rest of the last 4 years. They openly shut out their friends in the party, that family that had loyally supported them for decades, until fate forced them, out of abject desperation and terminal bad judgment, to top their hateful fear mongering election campaign with what almost appeared to be a debutant ball for Doug. It could only have been better if Randy had been included..

Daughter's daily sandwich
In his book Towhey also says Ford regularly sent staffers to a particular store to pick up and deliver a sandwich to his daughter. The daily errand took three hours of staff time, something that seemed to Towhey out of step for a mayor who made "respect for taxpayers" his mantra.

Galloway asked Towhey how Ford justified this.

"He couldn't," said Towhey. "The first that I heard of it, my head just about exploded. I explained to him that this is exactly the kind of thing that he professed to hate and was elected to stop. He agreed with me and … we were able to find a way to get his daughter fed without it having to involve taxpayer resources."

This.
