Rob Ford's Toronto

I too read the phrase "indicative of drug trafficking" as RoFo being involved in the actual drug operation. That, to me, is a total headscratcher. If it's true, what makes him tick? He has family wealth and he's earning a mayor's salary, he's in the public eye and he does not appear to have a lavish lifestyle. Why on earth would he be involved in what seems to be smallish-time dealing with Lisi, who doesn't seem like the brightest bulb in the box?
I've started to think that he might not have any access to money from Deco. His house is old and shabby and he bought it quite a while ago. He doesn't own his Escalade, that's a Deco leased vehicle. It's very possible that Doug and dear old mom don't trust him with money knowing his habits and childish lack of control. I'm sure they have money held for him in trust, they just won't let him have it now. So that leaves his salary as mayor.

Even if that isn't the case I can see Ford wanting his own secret stash as a fund for his activities (definitely including escorts here and that's a pricey habit). That way his wife, the Family, the press and public can only guess how he spends money.

There's also the real chance that he always wanted to play gangster like Doug did. Sort of a Fredo Corleone thing happening there.

It doesn't make sense. Wasn't Rob only dealing with Lisi because Rob's regular guy was in the slammer? There's no way Rob was a major player in a drug trafficking ring - except maybe to hook up some friends or by paying the bills at 15 Windsor.

Speculation: Unless he was profiting from product that was passing through 15 Windsor (that he was indirectly financially supporting), the recipients were one of the gangs tied to drugs, and it also created the scenario of the murder of Anthony Smith.

Hmmm... charging up a staircase, after abandoning security, if there was a any injury, Robbie is criminally liable.

I like how twice he abandoned his "guest".

The old football daze flashbacks are a bitch.

A bunch of young people have been invited into Ford's office. Man says they're from Wisconsin.

And what next--David Blaine will make them all disappear? Our gutter mayor's bag of dirty tricks never ends...

Definitions
2. (1) In this Act,
...

“traffic” means, in respect of a substance included in any of Schedules I to IV,
(a) to sell, administer, give, transfer, transport, send or deliver the substance,(b) to sell an authorization to obtain the substance, or(c) to offer to do anything mentioned in paragraph (a) or (b), otherwise than under the authority of the regulations.

and

(B) the person committed the offence in a prison, as defined in section 2 of the Criminal Code, or on its grounds, or
(C) the person used the services of a person under the age of 18 years, or involved such a person, in committing the offence;

As long as they were moving large volumes of weed, Ford and Lisi could easily be on the hook for trafficking vs. just possession. Note the two-year minimum sentence for trafficking on school grounds.

Plausible.

Project Brazen 2 is an investigation into Ford and Lisi. Lisi is facing drug charges. Hence, the drug trafficking comment in the ITO. That's how I see it. I don't think Rob Ford is Pablo Escobar.

Or he got involved because of his own habits -- partly for access, partly to finance his vices, and partly because he liked the lifestyle.

Is he not assaulting these reporters? You can just wham into people and shove them aside because you're mayor and want to get somewhere in a hurry. I guess it's up to the reporters if they want to lay complaints.

Bear in mind that trafficking by the letter of the law makes no mention of quantity. Any amount is trafficking. In reality trafficking charges happen when there is quantity or amounts measured for sale but the law itself applies to something as mundane as passing a joint.

So as mentioned above: is the missing sixth video mentioned in today's reports the video of a passed-out Ford with a gun pointed at his head?

Interesting thought. I remember the article that said the Smith killing was "street-level." Well, maybe Ford is more embroiled in street-level stuff than any of us know at this point. But I think if I were Ford, and I had those kinds of involvements, and became aware the police were surveilling me (as he and DoFo and Lisi all seemed to be), I would drop them immediately, not carry on exchanging envelopes with a dealer in the light of day.

You are forgetting that that the listed owner of Deco Labels both in Canada and the US is Randy Ford ....yes Doug is president...but it is the owner who has the final say....
