looks like a hugely complex intervention for something which honestly probably provides not a dissimilar amount of capacity compared to an old-fashioned detour road.
Particularly when it seems to be suitable for only 'spot work' and low clearance machinery (no crane work). Given the nature of our drivers, the speed restriction would be impossible to enforce.looks like a hugely complex intervention for something which honestly probably provides not a dissimilar amount of capacity compared to an old-fashioned detour road.
I always found it incredibly ironic a subway line at capacity is a good thing but a road moving 500,000 cars a day being at capacity was a bad thing.Just one more carriageway, bro
(I know it's a rehab, not an expansion, but couldn't resist)
What is ironic about that? Public transportation has fewer negative externalities than automobiles. A more sustainable and space-efficient option that encourages more compact communities is better.I always found it incredibly ironic a subway line at capacity is a good thing but a road moving 500,000 cars a day being at capacity was a bad thing.
Because traffic slows travel, while a subway line always travels at the same speed?I always found it incredibly ironic a subway line at capacity is a good thing but a road moving 500,000 cars a day being at capacity was a bad thing.

The subway was out at rush hour 5 times in about a week, that's not the case on the 401Because traffic slows travel, while a subway line always travels at the same speed?

Instead of pointless memes consider the traffic flow in the area? You're going from 5 lanes (including HOV) to 3 lanes with a lot of trucks causing congestion during the merges
I’d support more truck laws like the Germans have but the trucking lobby would block itShould build some truck only lanes and keep them there. Probably some for speed demons too. Signed use at your own risk!
I counted at least 100 trucks/commercial vehicles in this picture. You can say induced demand all you want but this highway quite literally is the lifeline of southern Ontario.Just one more carriageway, bro
