(as of June 1, 2007):
The Phase 1 area under the tower is progressing. With the completion of the Interim Loading Dock on April 9th, concrete forming work for the tower is rapidly proceeding. The Peri ACS forming system has arrived from Germany and is currently being erected for the core. Mechanical and electrical sleeving is keeping pace with the pour cycle and curtainwall embeds are being placed in accordance with the lift drawings. Slab on grade at the P3 level is scheduled to be started this month.
Excavation of the Phase 2 area under the Podium has occurred down to the existing shale. The temporary loading lock has now been totally removed. A temporary ramp has been positioned to allow excavation and the balance of the shoring / tie-back requirements to advance, in accordance with the schedule. Once this work is completed, the existing temporary ramp will be removed and the permanent ramp will be placed at the northwest corner of the site. The balance of the tunnel has now been demolished and all mechanical and electrical systems located within the tunnel have been decommissioned.
Excavation of the shale is scheduled to continue and, once the south portion of the site is excavated, mobilization for the installation of the caisson will commence.
Crane #3 will be erected in early July and Crane #2 will be modified by adding additional tower sections the existing tower. This allows the ACS clear and unobstructed vertical lift to expedite the schedule.
