Premier Doug Ford's Ontario

Doug Ford, a thoroughly unpleasant bully, a liar, not a very good or convincing one at that. Staff at city hall hated and feared him and those he employed in his office, ditto for Rob although more likeable when semi sober he too employed seedy staff and ways to get his point across. I overheard many a conversation between staff at other departments complaining about the mob tactics Doug would use to get his way. Some MPP's got elected and had high hopes to do "some good" and represent their constituents only to discover they were sent to seal training school to bow and clap for their leader. They are afraid and totally inept to resist the circus masters.
A gutless bunch, caught in the middle of a regime which allows those MPPs who are morally bankrupt and lack empathy to run amok without thought. (end of rant)

From link.

It's based on intention, not accomplishment.

Correct......

Though, this points out the absurdity of credit ratings in this context at all; the fiscal situation is actually worse this year, in absolute debt, in debt to GDP and in deficit then when the province was put on 'negative outlook'

Doug's political errors continue...

The Tories' beer and wine campaign has been widely criticized by social media users since it started on the weekend.

Most of the tweets by PC MPPs feature a large number of critical replies that far outpace the number of retweets or likes associated with the tweet — a phenomenon Twitter users call getting "ratioed."

Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliott was part of the weekend blitz and promoted a convenience store convicted of selling an electronic cigarette to an underage customer in a tweet calling for expanded beer and wine sales. The Aurora, Ont. store was convicted of violating the Smoke-Free Ontario Act by selling an electronic cigarette to a person under 19 on July 12, 2018.

Going by the Macdonald Block today, a thought came to me: what if, as part of the present renovations and upgrades, the Ford gov't had the bright idea of selling off the artwork?

That goes beyond an unforced error.

The @OntarioCofC has been very supportive of the @fordnation govt. And its CEO is a former @OntarioPCParty candidate. But they just sent a letter to the govt expressing unhappiness w Ford's unilaterally cancelling the Beer Store agreement. #onpoli

He is losing business allies now.

I wonder if those beer-at-the-corner-store tweets were meant to operate in kind of the same way as rock stars chiming in with their own version of "Things Go Better With Coca-Cola", or their own variation on "I Want My MTV". Yeah, like Ontario News Now is on the same level as 60s Top 40 or 80s MTV...

Ford Fest is back June 22... but without beer.

Many have already pointed out that it’s ironic that there will be no beer at the annual Ford family BBQ since it's been so central to Ford's government mandate and after his party's MPPs posted synchronized tweets complaining that they can't buy beer at convenience stores this past weekend.

Ford government rejects Toronto's own plans for Yonge and Eglinton downtown, demands more density.

The Ford government has thrown out the City of Toronto’s amendments to its official plan for the areas of Yonge and Eglinton and the downtown core, with the municipal affairs minister saying the plan needs to allow for denser housing near transit hubs.

In July 2018, the City of Toronto made amendments to its official plan for the downtown core and the Yonge and Eglinton area.

Toronto Mayor John Tory has said he was told of the rejection by the province via text message last night.

And there is more corruption: The Ford government owns a web domain used by a private sector industry lobby group to advance a government policy that will cost us $1B and the Attorney General is advertising the beer campaign. What the WTF is going on at Queen’s Park (beside the obvious and little brown envelopes)
