I cannot seem to post replies. If I quick reply it just waits endlessly and if I reply through the regular posting option it says access forbidden. But I can seem to start this new thread (maybe...I will find out once I hit the button). Is this just a temporary problem due to work?

Posting problems and replies in certain topics and threads

A-S and all: I have had some problems with posting myself. If I type out a reply or stay working on a post for too long or if is over a certain length it seems-I will go to post then not only do I completely lose my post but it logs me out at the same time and does not recognize me! I have had this happen with at least three different computers I have access to as well as on separate topics-an example is the current topics on Buffalo's Waterfront in General Discussion-I have tried four separate times to add a long post to this thread-losing everything each time which is quite frustrating! I have liked Urban Toronto since I joined-there are many topics that I read here-but hopefully problems such as these can be straightened out. LI MIKE

From personal experience, I've too found that vBulletin does inadvertently log you out sometimes when making a post. However, I've always found that upon logging-in again, my text is back in the posting box.

Posting Problems: Frustrating!!!

D416: I just had the log-out problem happen again-on the Ontario Trillium topic. I decided to post a extra text on the topic but what happened to me after I used your tip on this I ended up with another log-in page showing different problems and adding that if I tried to log in too many times that I would be locked out-I then logged in again-I got in and I am now adding this text-and the worked on post was indeed GONE! Hopefully the forum administrators can rectify this FRUSTRATING problem!!!! LI MIKE

Posting problems-good tip!

D416: I just placed a post on the trillium logo and Ontario symbols-the log out problem happened again but this time your tip WORKED! I logged back in and I was welcomed back in and there was my post-placed in the forum as intended. That is something we all have to keep an eye out for! Thanks again-LI MIKE

vbulletin hasn't logged me out once...ezboard would log me out on average with every second post I made or every tenth page I viewed, whichever came first, it seemed.

Well, now I have come across a problem: I can't access urbantoronto at home...it just brings up that "cannot display page, DNS error" page. I thought maybe I was banned or something but I'm logging in here at school.

Any tech-savvy people know why I'd suddenly stop being able to access the forum? I tried quick fixes I randomly found googling for answers but no luck so far.

I never realized how much I'm using this forum as a reference source for all things Toronto until I was itching to look a few things up yesterday and was unable to...

scarberiankhatru is still unable to access the forum from home. He's wondering if his IP address has somehow been blocked. He's still able to log in from other computers.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... I'm not that much of a techie.

DNS error means that his computer is unable to recgonise the urbantoronto.ca address. It's certainly got nothing to do with Ed or the forum itself. This could be a problem with his Internet Service Provider, or it could be a problem with his computer.

Does Scarberian use IE or some other browser? Has he had the same trouble loading any other sites? Is there perhaps another computer in his home which he could use to try loading UT?

He isn't blocked from our end. Let me look into it.

I'm posting from school again...

It just seems to be www.urbantoronto.ca that I can't access from home. On Wednesday afternoon I posted once and two minutes later I tried posting again in another thread but the whole forum was blocked. I've called Rogers three times and they claim there's no server problems or anything wrong on their end, and finally suggested reformatting my computer and reinstalling Windows, which, naturally, I'd like to not do. Yes, CDL, if I had a second computer at home I'd be able to tell if it's my internet or my computer that's the problem, but I don't have 2 computers...perhaps I can lure someone with a laptop over to my house...

Ed007 mentioned a server issue a few days ago? Perhaps there's other people blocked.
