Post your pictures of Toronto here!

A week ago from around Sunnyside. Click for larger photo. I do have the original, which is about four times the size if someone wants it. ;)

And from the pedestrian bridge crossing over the Gardiner from Roncesvalles.

OPG / Hydro Building

So, I work near the Hydro Building at University and College, so I tend to take a lot of photos of it... as it's basically a big concave mirror, it always seems to look different.

Hopefully this building will be out of my system for a while now. by josephtravers, on Flickr

Great thread indeed. Happy to have found it. Here's some of mine from the past few years, taken in various places in the GTA - mostly the central area.

It's extremely likely tomorrow is the last day for the GM buses in Toronto. Step entrance, not wheelchair accessible, and no air conditioning, no doubt some people will be happy when these are withdrawn. But after catching a few last rides and hearing people's comments, at least some of the general public are disappointed to hear they will disappear.

ah... they were good while they lasted. No doubt an attractive "vintage" vehicle at this point. But, I think that with Toronto's ever transforming and modernizing streets and buildings, these just tend to look out of date. I think that our public transportation needs to be modernized as part of creating a new aesthetic and raising the reputation of the city as being modern and efficient. great pics by the way...

Thanks. Part of me would like to see one or two running a heritage tourist route like in London, but we couldn't even maintain that with the PCCs. But if it's modern you want, there are 60 of these coming in 2012:

Maybe not the most modern and stylish out there, but close enough.

You know, those new busses strike me as fairly dull and blocky. Don't get me wrong - glad the TTC is getting some new rolling stock - but many older bus designs rocked. They're a vanished breed nowadays but a few specimens remain, and they're stylin'. Here's a lovely GM coach that was parked in Corktown a couple of months ago.
