Perhaps using a different code would help me.
It might be less of an issue for corporate retailers who have centralized data management but for smaller retailers, re-coding or even just knowing what's in and what's out will be challenging. If the earlier link is accurate, if a bottle of wine for personal use is exempt but one as a gift is taxable, how the heck does a retailer deal with that? Imagine the line-ups at an LCBO before Christmas as the purpose of every bottle is parsed, or will they simply give up and key the no-tax option?
I don't know a lot of IT but know that, often, a 'simple little change', isn't.
