Really? Harper visited the Whitby-Oshawa riding twice during the by-election to replace Jim Flaherty, during the last set of by-elections that occurred under his government.

My recollection was that Harper went to the riding in advance of the by-election call.

That article to which you linked also lists other by-elections in which Harper campaigned: Durham, Calgary Centre, and Vaughan. Looks like we're in agreement.

That's not entirely healthy - principled opposition isn't a bad thing - just not sure if either CPC or NDP is particularly up to the task right now.

Yes, I do believe that having an opposition party or parties is part of a healthy democracy. Just look at the free ride Brad Wall has in Saskatchewan right now.

This is pollsters making up a story to get attention. Trudeau's numbers are solid except for CPC strongholds like Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Regardless, the Liberals need to get their act together. They are making too many dumb mistakes and generally are not (giving the appearance of) making significant progress on the big files.
