They could also be recovering because the infection is running its course. Patent or no, they were taking it off-script so they either found a friendly doctor or bought it online.Ah jeez, spoke to my first, I believe antivaxer today. I was speaking with one of my employer’s suppliers based out of rural Manitoba. She said her entire family caught Covid last week but that they all took Stromectol (Ivermectin) and are recovering. I immediately asked her, isn’t that the nonsense horse meds that Trump and conspiracists are peddling. To which there was a short silence, whereupon she said that Stromectol is the human grade version and that it’s not being pushed because the patent has run out. I didn’t outright ask her if they’ve had their shots, but when I said we’d just got our boosters there was another short silence and evasion.
Supposed scientific journals like these don’t help.

I can't say I've encountered an anti-vaxer but tend not to engage in Covid-related discussions simply because I don't need the grief. I've encountered the odd lockdown/restriction-of-the-day objector and just nod, smile and move on.
Living largely social media free is a wonderful place. Other than three chat forums (including this one) and a single FB page that I was talked into and stays wonderfully on topic, I have no presence. I don't need to know everybody's random and unfiltered thoughts or a photo of what they are eating. I do realize that it an effective way to quickly disseminate information, but most of it is simply dreck.
