Time to be a pedestrian and just lazily walk down the middle of that road. I don't see anyone doing such in those pics so I'm not sure why we're surprised that the robots have taken over.

I don't know....bust a chair out in the middle of that piece and start up on the old accordion.

I mean, that's what real lively streets look like.

PS: FYI, the city of Toronto blocks access to their website to users of Tor web browser, so.......even less surprise that cars are king.

Comments from the media insiders this weekend suggest the NHL will go with a plan to play all (or almost all) remaining games at only two or three "hub cities" instead of the original planned four. It sounds like Toronto is on the outs in favour of Las Vegas and Edmonton and/or Vancouver, the reasoning generally being those are among the newest arenas (Edmonton and Vegas both less than three years old) designed and built with cooling tech to work in the summer, and also the Mountain Time Zone being convenient for a format where two or three games played each day would be required at each location. A game could start at 5:00 p.m MT which is 7:00 p.m. ET and be over in time and the ice surface cleaned up and restored so that a western team could start their game at 8:30 p.m local time, ending at about 11:00 p.m. local time.

A big reason this is possible is because the collapse of the three California teams in the NHL means for the first time in 15 years none of them will make the playoffs, even in a greatly expanded playoff group they still wouldn't make it in. So the only Pacific Time team they have to fit in is Vancouver.

Nevada uses Pacific time, not Mountain time.

To vote by mail, you will need to complete a special ballot application form and return it to us with a copy of one piece of ID. Application forms will be available on our website or at returning offices once an election in your electoral district has been called.

As of this date, I have not found out how to vote by mail or internet in the City of Toronto.

As a computer programmer, it can take that long to write, test, and test again, before making it ready for the internet use. Even for by-elections.

As for the mail option, why hasn't Toronto had one available. Again, should be ready for a by-election.

In both cases, they should have something for a by-election, to find out if there are any bugs. At the very least, they should make it known that "something" will be coming in two years.

Good graphic.

Not sure it makes the case for an expanded local tax base as well as it might.

Few Cities are more unequal than those in the U.S.

Where they have relatively higher non-property tax revenues.

I happen to agree a more diversified tax base would be good.

Austria probably represents this best.
