My dear Lord Mayor Tory, about that letter:

There are some elitists, who while they can afford to have a horseless carriage or two, they also get around on the TTC (Take To the Conifers).

But there's a sliding scale, IMO. Those with a car will take the subway, maybe a streetcar, but rarely a bus. This is from a very small sampling of my acquaintances, so take it at that value.

Don't tell Tory that. He'll cut "smelling good" 0ut of the budget.

And I assume you haven't smelled a Line 2 train in the summer heat wave.

I'm familiar with the smells of all Toronto transit, at all times of the day, They don’t call the Blue Line “The Vomit Comet” for no reason, but I digress...

There is a difference between sporadic and constant.

I do agree with you about the budget.

Subway trains, the new streetcars, and airplanes use an Environmental Air Sponge, see link, to absorb odors. Unless they reduced the frequency of changing them due to budget cuts. Or maybe not at all, for show that they mean to meet the target.

Student nutrition program on block in Toronto’s public health budget

John Tory's poverty reduction program in action.
  • More than 13,000 low-income Toronto students will lose nutritious snacks
  • A significant number of public health staff positions eliminated
  • A reduction in mosquito larviciding that could increase the risk of people getting West Nile virus
  • Forced closure of crumbling social housing units
  • As of today, privatization of Toronto Hydro is now on the table

Let them eat cake.
