While this building's obviously never going to return to its former glory, and I never minded the mural anyway, I do wish they'd clean up the top of the building. The cornice and other details are looking pretty sad.
What bothers me about this garish mess is the fact that the owners of Lee's palace actually got a grant from the city to help pay for this "restoration".
It seems to me that if the city is going to hand out grants to building owners the money should be strictly used to RESTORE historic facades (like the cornice seen above that is still in need of attention )
