King-Queen-Roncy Intersection/ROW

A Roncesvalles update! It looks like they've made progress on the 504 Northbound/Westbound streetcar platforms. Marion looks complete and the other four are all in progress.

Pictures, please! LOL (Thnx for the update)

How can they lay the tracks, when they have even started construction on the site? ...Or even started building roads.
They could lay the foundation (or even the tracks) in the 2150 Lake Shore Blvd. W. roadway and sidewalk up to the property line. Likely there are no funds available anyways for laying any tracks, as usual.

Sorry, you are out to lunch as to what can happen to what needs to happen first. You realize that the tracks on the the Lake Shore between Park Law and Humber loop as less than 10 years old??

There needs to be road work first before you can convert the tracks to an ROW and years away from taking place.

The master plan for Park Lawn is not 100% approve yet to the point new roads can't be built that will include the new loop. That is under phase 1 than includes building the ne GO Station. Until the roads are approve location wise, TTC can't look at where they will have to build the switches for the new loop.

Had to cut my trip short and try to shoot the area on Sat, but where I normally park, no way to it. The Queensway, Lake Shore and the Gardiner were a parking lot to the west of the Humber at 4pm along with pack side streets. To make a left turn off the Queensway to go west on the Lake Shore were backup for at least 3-5 or more light depending om the intersection. Did a U-turn on Windermere to get to the LS.

3 northbound Roncesvalles platforms still been worked on and are basely completed. All southbound are completed.

Had a look on Sunday and if service to start Sept 3rd here what to happen.

City:
Both roads still need to be completed with landscaping west of Glendale
Traffic lights to be install at Glendale
Traffic lights turn on at Sunnyside Dr
Clean up

TTC
3 more poles to be install
22 single and double track brackets to be install on the poles
Power line to be install on the poles
OS to be stung
Platform Shelters to be install
Cleaning of the tracks
Testing and this is not for few trips. The curve for the old dip area is now an elevated and many speed test will have to be done to make sure there isn't a car laying on its side taking the curve, especially going eastbound

I have yet to do anything on these photos as they are close to 2000 now from what I have to work on first and only a few of them

Eastbound higher than the westbound

The Queensway "dip" around Glendale Avenue and Claude Avenue is because there used to be a pond and stream north of it. You can see it on this map, east of Indian Road.
From link.

That area of The Queensway going north could have been a park, but the developers at the time just landfilled the pond and stream. The area is today prone to street and basement flooding. Expecting the rainfall runoff from The Queensway, Claude, and Glendale would add to the flooding, unless they included larger storm sewers.

Been going back through this thread to try to understand the 2 years of this project, and came upon this photo.

Why is the angle of the track switch that crosses the sidewalk so wonky? Is this to make the turns on an LFLRV more palatable?

when do we think all lanes will be open again? i am tired of the merging... LOL (going east bound)
Sometime soon

You will be happy having 2 lanes both ways then

I am confused, are the photos from August 6? If they are from today I must say that VERY little progress has been made.
