^The letter informing me of the decision today.

Guys, I hope you all take a moment to celebrate with me. Seven years ago in May of 2002 I went to Toronto and fell madly in love. Not with a human being, but with a city and country and culture that I passionately wanted to be a part of.

Today - the 10th of June 2009 - I am a legal resident of Canada. (at least for about two years at minimum)

It has taken years of hard work, a bitch of legal paperwork, and a passionate determined vision of the future. But just when you don't think you can take it anymore, things do work out guys.

Many of you know how intensely important this decision was for me to make, and i'm glad to show you all it hasn't been all talk over the years. For me, I'm different, I put my action into words and got what I wanted.

PARTYTIME!!

P.S. I am leaving Pittsburgh with the greatest of experiences. I came here expecting to stay longer, not sure what the future held. I love this town, and if there is any place in America that I'd like to live Pittsburgh is the place. Its a real American town with a real urban fabric.

Thanks everyone! My stress level has just dropped to rediculously low levels for the first time in years.

Wow, congrats! And welcome.

It's really nice to see this worked out for you after following your other thread.

And yes, I did think that this thread was porn spam upon initially reading the title.

though he won't make hustler's barely legal, he will make citizenship's barely legal. ;)

brandon, i take it you studied all the different grades of maple syrup and can tell the difference between them. ;)

My perm application was still denied back in February, but if I stay in Canada for two years on this program I should be able to remain in Canada permanently (hopefully). I see it working out in the long run.

Congratulations Brandon and welcome to Canada!!! :)

Congrats Brandon! I remember your dissapointment back when you were denied.
You sounded like you had given up hope.
I'm glad your perceverance paid off.
Your attitude demonstrates that you are the type of person we want here.
My wife move here from Pittsburgh (originally Dallas) 21 years ago and wouldn't want to to go back. Toronto is her home.

Good luck

Though we have had our differences, I say without any reservation, Congrats and the best of luck to you!

What route did you end up taking to get residency anyway?

Interesting, I didn't choose Pittsburgh as a place to move to Toronto from, it just kind of worked out that way. LOL Its certainly convenient with it being relatively close (Pittsburgh is the same distance from Philadelphia as it is to Toronto, believe it or not).

Toronto is certainly my home as well, fell in love years ago. ;)
