GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

What in the name of hell is happening with GO buses lately?

There were no less than 3 no shows to/from Milton this week, one 22 that then continued back east as a 21 that never left Oakville and the replacement bus didn't join the line until around Meadowvale on the 21, and another this morning that never left Milton and according to TransSee was once again filled in somewhere in Mississauga. In none of these circumstances was any alert or explanation offered on the GO website; today, there's a bunch of canned warnings on the GO site for various route, not limited by any means to just the Milton ones, that due to "operational adjustments" [sic], some GO bus trips may be cancelled.

A lot of people give the TTC flack, and rightfully so, but since they run such an abundance of service, it's very rare to be as badly screwed over as GO riders can be. Typical Metrolinx logic, run such a threadbare and vulnerable network that vehicles MUST run 100% of the time in order for the service to be usable, and then cancel buses left, right, and centre, turning 1- and 2- hour headways into 2- and 4-hour headways. But make sure you pay your criminally extortionate fare.

And to think that folk on here want them to take over the LRT lines from the TTC. The Lord preserve us.

They could be short on crews.

Great. I'm so glad that Canadian Pacific are able to deliver freight without any pesky passenger trains getting in their way.

There is no acceptable transit where there are GO buses.

Apparently there is a major signal failure at Union Station this morning, right at the peak of rush hour. Everything is being turned back.

Per the above:

Supposedly the derailment was a KI train en-route to Bramalea. It derailed near one of the UP Express stations. The info I have isn't clear on which station it is, just that it was near a UP Express station.

Given the delay is at Union. I would like to believe this was in the USRC.

That said.. if there is a derailment due to signal issues at Union, today will be fun not only for GO transit but VIA and UPExpress.

CSA announced (and shows on Transsee) trains are now trickling through Union Station. Trains are holding at earlier stations until they get their turn. My train is currently going to be held up at Long Branch Edit: Now Mimico. Edit: Made it to Union
