GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

fun to point there is no electrified railroad that runs double stack intermodal due to height issues. Its why CN and CP will likely not support electrification for many decades if ever..

Portions of the Northeast Corridor in the US run autoracks and overheight auto-parts boxcars, which fit within the same clearance envelopes as many double-stacked container cars. And portions of the electrified network around Philadephia absolutely do run double-stacks.

So this is an island platform?
No, since this is a 2 track corridor with side platforms so far. They are grading the area where the new west platform is to go.

Man when this line is finished with all the grade separations, station upgrades, electrification and european EMU trains, service every 7-15 minutes, it will be the envy of the city.

Aren't LSE, LSW and Barrie getting the exact same upgrades? Also, I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but I'm afraid most people will have no idea this line or its upgrades even exist lol...

It's rare for the media (CP24, CTV, Citytv) to even report on the RER project in general. Not many people realize how much GO will change in the coming decade.

I think that's more the fault of Metrolinx as they haven't really put out anything that makes people see it as something that is going to change the way they commute in the city and elsewhere.
