Future of Maple Leaf Gardens as a Casino

I agree with adma. I'd rather see it converted to something all Torontonians can use, not something to desperately draw people to the city that the rest of us are going to want to stay away from.

I've said this before, but moving the Hall of Fame would be the best option...casinos are better off at Woodbine.

Casinos only make people poor, and poor people belong in the suburbs, and MLG is not located in the suburbs, and therefore it shouldn't become a casino.

We don't need a casino at MLG. Turn it into a pilgrimage shrine to that great cult of ours in Toronto, the Maple Leafs, and it will automatically become a cash cow.

Think of all the revenue that can be generated through the veneration and the worship of the Leaf pantheon!

It'll never happen. The Province has no interest in the uproar from Casino Rama, Mohawk etc. when all of that Toronto money stops getting on casino buses and starts paying senior tickets on the TTC. The province won't see much extra cut over what it already gets even before Toronto looks for more than the pittance it gets from Woodbine.

I disagree. I'm not going to go to Niagara, Windsor or Rama to gamble. But I might stop in at Maple Leaf Gardens once and a while to spend $20 in the hopes of something happening. Even Woodbine is too out of the way but Carlton and Church? Not a problem.

They'd make a lot more money opening a casino in downtown Toronto.
