I think its too late to connect the LRT to the Eglinton line, so someone has to find a way of making this STC LRT continuous to the core to actually get the support needed to change plans again. It could follow Gatineau Hydro corridor, Ellesmere, or Lawrence to the DVP and then makes its way downtown. It could likely be done for the $4B that the B-D subway extension would cost.
We know that if anyone pushes the same LRT with transfer at Kennedy, it will just result in more delays, more cost increases, and the entire transit plans held hostage until this is resolved.
Offer Scarborough a continuous, grade-separated transit line to the core and everyone could get behind it - both LRT supporters and subway proponents. It could also serve Centennial and Malvern, plus eliminates the idea of looping Sheppard down the B-D line.
