It's strange how Filmport tried to build a 'landmark' while here they're tearing down something that is much more memorable than the filmport (now pinewood) big stage will ever be. What a shame and seemingly, in the larger scheme of things, a bad business decision.It seems that our delight over this impressive facility being saved by conversion into a film studio was premature. The silos, stacks, and the massive "claw" are being demolished - in essence, the very features that made this building stand out in the first place. More industrial heritage being destroyed needlessly. Etobicoke is already woefully lacking landmark structures and points of interest...why not eliminate one more?
