Bay Adelaide Centre West Tower (Brookfield, 50s, WZMH)

That clearly didn't prevent the owners from filling in the attractive "overhang" that originally saw the building cantilevered out over the main floor. Though perhaps they bestowed their protection, such as it is, after the fact.

My old Mum used to work there for Canada Truss in the early 1970's.

...yeh but it clashes with the little brown crap building in the middle, and there will be a big blue crap building blocking that view soon anyway.

True enough, the newer bit is crap but the older part is a refugee and deserves our kindness and consideration. It is the former Wood Gundy building which used to command a position on King Street directly beside the older Bank of Nova Scotia. Despite the rather demeaning treatment it has been forced to endure, it remains a fine example of Victoriana.

I dont know if anyone noticed it. But it looks like the forms for the Bay Adealaide shaft are being constructed at this very moment.

don't know if this was posted before, but Brookfield did a news release today, and there was some info regarding leasing activity at BA...

here's the link..

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=aFJXjHYFm2ZY&refer=canada

the pertinent data...

"For new leases, Brookfield secured a 17-year new lease with Goodmans LLP at the Bay Adelaide Centre for 170,000 square feet, bringing the pre-leasing at this development to 38 percent".

Sounds like commercial leasing is hot all over North America..:)
