2015 Federal Election

Well I was in the right riding with a passport a driver's license and a letter to my house and the process was still difficult
 
I find it odd that the Canadians living outside of Canada cannot vote. In addition, if they tell their friends or relatives, who still live in Canada, how they should vote, they can be fined or imprisoned for that. Allegedly.

They can, as long as they've lived outside the country for less than 5 years.

I believe they clarified that by saying that voicing your opinions is perfectly fine, it's when there's a tangible offer to induce people to vote one way or another that it becomes a problem.
 
I heard a good analogy.

Harper made the case for Conservative re-election just as the prosecution made it in the OJ Simpson case. The Canadian electorate, as the OJ jury, did not believe the evidence.
