It's a Polish name so it is easy for me to remember, but yes this could be an issue moving forward.
Though Sarah Thom(p)son had name-retention problems even w/o an "ethnic" surname.

Maybe not Budd Dwyer-esque (hopefully!), but I could see something like this happening...
I was thinking more of one without former political to the former suburb cities. If us downtowners promote another urbanist candidate, we'll see Ford win support in the 'burbs.Out of curiosity, how would having another mayor from outside the old City of Toronto unify the megacity? We've had two already.
I can also see Doug Ford (assuming he doesn't win a seat at QP) stating that "Toronto has become a communist city run by socialists and a left-wing media" and thereby he is moving the entire Ford Family and its Deco business to Milton. Or maybe Chicago. One or the other though.Even that's too deliberate. At this point, I can almost see him breaking down and bawling "I want my mommy!" Or else, maybe, post-e-day, refusing to leave or give up his office until he's tear-gassed out of there.
I'm glad I'm paying for Olivia Chow an MP salary while she goes on a self-promoting book tour.
And Harper thanked Nigel Wright for ethical advice in the acknowledgements in that book.I expect you're just as glad you paid the Prime Minister while he wrote a history of the Toronto hockey scene, then, right?
So will Rob feel the need to compete with Olivia by writing a book of his own? Hahahahaha (on so many levels)

Yes it is politically brilliant - but so is Stephen HarperTalk of improving communities, working with others such as right wing Mel Lastman, demonstrating her long history in public life, saving every penny, her struggle as an immigrant (like over 50% of Toronto) and rekindling the sympathy for her as Jack's widow. These are all key messages for her campaign -- and it's brilliant.
It's happening: Olivia Chow will be our next Mayor.
