What thread has all the Biidaasige stuff?

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

You can blame them (efficient project delivery is surely within their mandate), you probably can't be surprised though.

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

It was literally the preferred plan for. . . . years?! They had a full design for at least the bus terminal at STC drawn up . . . I ask this sincerely, do you really think I am unaware that the SSE route and SRT route are not the same. I've literally probably made 20 videos on this topic . . .

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If you will have stations at A and B, and only A and B, the route you take to get there being "transit unfriendly" is irrelevant.

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

If the goal is to only go to Scarborough town center, which has been the plan for at least one of the subway plans then it's irrelevant how you get there! With regard to the existing tunnel, I'm not sure what you're talking about. It absolutely is simple easy and low cost compared to what we...

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Scarborough town centre will still be one of the busiest stations on the network, and given how busy many of the buses in the area that will feed it are I expect Sheppard and McCowan will also be busy. Warden and Kennedy are some of the busiest stations on the network. The main problem here is...

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

If one gets built indeed, and it ought to be one of the few projects that happens no matter what because its short and on the surface -> Cheap Apparently the TOD is designed to allow the line to route through it instead of continuing right on Hwy 27, which is nice.

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

You're talking about the area around Ellesmere like its downtown Toronto, and not mostly wide open industrial lots and a few townhomes at the southern edge. And you're talking about the costs and technical challenges like they are somehow bigger than a mega sized single bore tunnel the whole...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I did not ask anyone to tell me how something was possible. Someone said "no tunnels are needed" and I gave some reasons we might build some in decades. You then suggested that don't take criticism well, and then sort of implied this wasn't possible because we currently have a dysfunctional...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I care a lot about public transit, and this is where info about what's being built gets posted.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Thanks for the jab Mark. Yes, I like to imagine a future Toronto where we can build infrastructure that other developed world cities in democratic countries can build instead of always giving in to overpowering cynicism. It is hard when people say things like "is this bait" when you even...

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

Alright I guess it's time to use the ignore feature. Not that I should be surprised. The trolling is infantile. I say something positive about something, and the response from Nate is immediate that I am wrong. Oh yeah, Vancouver airport, we've nothing to learn from them . . . . "YVR is...

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Just want to put it out there that long term we may well want some tunnels. I can see two major good reasons and one bad one: 1) Toronto has unbalanced rail lines. We have 3 lines (all day service) west of downtown and 2 to the east, Milton would make that 4 and 2, and worse still, Lakeshore...

    Toronto Bloor–Danforth Line 2 Scarborough Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

The sense I got was that the mall was not playing ball. Their loss. That being said, we don't necessarily need a tunnel. The covered walkway at Humber College L6 station is (imperfect) but pretty good, and surely infinitely less expensive.

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

Go look at cities in Australia (Perth and Brisbane) and Auckland. They have gone from diesel systems with dated signalling to electrification, EMUs, and ETCS etc. Brisbane is even getting an RER tunnel with screen doors in time for their Olympics (it'll be open years before to be clear)

    Toronto Pearson International Airport

A friend was through Pearson recently and remarked about how crowded it is. We really are putting a ton of pax pressure on the terminals. Gotta get started on the expanded T1 asap, but it's still some time off iirc I also really wish GTAA would think bigger with things like retail, services...

TTC: Automatic Train Control and Subway Platform Screen Doors

Not really the case. Montreal is having no issues with their doors (they've sadly had issues with many other things) on the REM. There are also innumerable airport people movers with PEDs. On the issue of testing I agree that a bad look would be . . . bad, but people know that screen doors...

    Toronto Bloor-Yonge Station Capacity Enhancement | ?m | ?s | TTC | AECOM

Don't get me wrong, I agree entirely with the premise that it shouldn't be all or nothing. That being said we should have PEDs everywhere, just not on day one. I'm sure we can get costs down, and the benefits are huge!

    Toronto Eglinton Line 5 | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The table is kind of confusing (these are not end to end times, or parts of an end to end trip) but the end to end journey in test takes less than an hour but quite a bit more than 40 minutes - most of the slowdown is unsurprisingly because of slow surface ops. Call it ~50 mins.
