    Laneway and Garden Houses (various)

The laneway between Gladstone and Bartlett, just west of Dovercourt Park, has a ton of laneway homes now. I counted at least 7, with another under construction.

    Laneway and Garden Houses (various)

There's a standalone laneway lot for sale behind 774 Manning: https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/26155786/rear-774-manning-ave-toronto-annex Curious if anyone knows how building on a rear lot like this would work? My understanding of the laneway housing by-laws is that laneway structures...

This pic of the building is currently on the front page of r/toronto

    Toronto 208 Bartlett | 12m | 4s | Sheeraz Ahmad Siddiqui | High Park Architects

Perhaps it's rude to say, but this has not exactly been the most "competent" nimby effort I've witnessed in our fine city.

    Toronto 208 Bartlett | 12m | 4s | Sheeraz Ahmad Siddiqui | High Park Architects

Someone has submitted a 13 page objection letter, complete with numerous photos. Unfortunately, they've misread the plans and have imagined a brick wall that doesn't exist. I've approximated the location of their "red box" on the submitted plans, and highlighted the existing building.

I wish this project used that lovely gold-coloured metal along St. Clair as well. Weirdly enough, I noticed "The Campbell" on Dupont has a similar palette of materials, but they used the gold at street level and basic silver on the rest of the tower, the exact opposite of this one!

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

I agree we can't definitively blame Metrolinx here until more info comes out about why the brake discs failed like this. But I wouldn't call it a trivial situation - our airport express rail system is completely offline for the indefinite future. This is a very big deal!

    Laneway and Garden Houses (various)

My partner and I just signed a lease to move into a laneway house! Can't wait, after 12 years of living in dorms, apartment towers and condos it'll be nice to have a slightly more private space, with no elevators.

It seems Peter Clewes from aA doesn't like this project very much

    Toronto Craft Residences | 36m | 9s | Gairloch | BDP Quadrangle

Comparing the front elevation with the lovely brick detail and the rounded corners to the back with its blocky angular plane ziggurat gives me shades of "Homer impresses Marge".

Biked by this one the other day and was surprised by how much I didn't hate the panels in person. The colours, contrasting black lines and matte finish make it look much nicer than typical spandrel, very different from the awful glossy grey on Fuse 2. That said, it'll probably age very poorly.

Hand laid brick, on a condo, in Toronto? Amazing.

I can hear the Cabbagetown residents sharpening their "neighbourhood character" spears ask we speak...

At little bit late, but I can answer that one. It's an aluminum siding/soffit product called "Longboard".
