    Parking - Catch All

I agree and prices have gone up over time but I'm still running into issues. My guess is at least for after hours people are only willing to pay a certain price. It would suck if the lots and restaurants etc get a big drop in business because people aren't willing to drive though traffic and pay...

    Parking - Catch All

That is a fair point! I understand what you mean since the prices in theory should be tied together. I'm ok with cutting parking if it makes sense in the area, but how do you do that without affecting residents, as well as businesses? Between *roughly* Parkside drive and Coxwell, a parking spot...

    Hamilton International Airport

With my limited knowledge they probably know some things we don't because they run service from waterloo, setting up more contracts and commitments might also be a thorn for them even if there is enough demand. Lynx was terrible ran, didn't even sell things on board!

    Parking - Catch All

In the core street on major streets has a rush hour ban (usually 2-3 hours for each peak) so you're going to have to charge less than a garage. For off peak times if you're staying 2 or 3 hours it's often cheaper just to go into a garage! For comparison somewhere I park, green P is $6.50 an...

Just checked the prices and $142 a week isn’t horrible

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

Thank you! I guess I was mixing up projects

    Hamilton International Airport

Yeah fair point! I should have said in conjunction with any new major airline launches. Even in the swoop days it only made sense for me to use them if I shared an uber with some friends on a trip.

    Hamilton International Airport

Honestly even a proper shuttle from Aldershot would be nice, I feel most travelers are cost conscious, and a $40-60 uber x ride kills any saving

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

Thank you for the photos! Does anyone know when the project started? All I can see is an RFP back from 2019 but I remember even before 2010 they were carving out space for what I assume was the current bridge.

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

See my earlier points, I think without a plan you end up designing a system for nobody. (Yes I'm aware a few dozen people are willing to bike 30km a day)

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

This isn’t a question of what is deserved, that line of thinking is what brought us the Scarborough subway instead a more useful LRT

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

I personally have two concerns that I don't think will ever be addressed. 1. What are the majority of cycling trips expected to accomplish? I think if you're reasonably close to the core, and work there commuting is a realistic prospect. I think if either you don't live there OR your place...

    Cycling infrastructure (Separated bike lanes)

Outside of the university lane, I've never felt 100% comfortable passing a bike or being passed due to the width.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

No, the opposite. I found most of the awful in Europe was not caring about others property (scraping strangers cars)

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

See how many people have barely running cars, no brake lights, or pass on the right in those countries?

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

It's weird I remember hearing the default tone on some platforms (the ones dum dum dum you hear at go stations) and others it's the original 505 DUNDAS CALL CONTROL voice but so scratchy I can't even hear the station.

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

I totally agree! Like I don't understand why the city won't take into account the quality of work 3 or 4 years later? Additionally, maybe I'm showing my ignorance here but one thing mentioned was needing 100 reports done to build a house in Caledon, I know that's a bit disingenuous as some...

    Metrolinx: Other Items (catch all)

A tiny bit off topic but this article brings up the insane cost of a lot of our infrastructure processes. I remember seeing Germany is spending half what we do per KM for new lines. https://thehub.ca/2024/10/03/eric-lombardi-canada-can-no-longer-afford-to-ignore-its-soft-corruption-problem
