Downtown Brampton Flood Protection Project - Environmental Assessment

You make a fundamental error, the reason for the redesign is not for the dead, but rather so that the living can know where their dead are buried. Sylvia has been lobbying Brampton to have the Bovaird BRT plans continue to at least Highway 50, which should enhance the Major Mac West extension numbers.

The costs for the 41 will get significantly cheaper once the new MSF is opened at Highway 50 and Cadetta. If I remember correctly, Caledon presently has to pay once the bus leaves the MSF, so having the MSF for the buses be over 10km closer should significantly reduce costs, thereby increasing...

    VIVA + York Region Transit

It is worth noting that the vast majority of York Region is empty, and that the urban parts of Vaughan, Richmond Hill, and Markham are still relatively populous. If they focused growth service there, and along Yonge up to Newmarket, they could significantly increase their farebox recovery ratio...

    VIVA + York Region Transit

People continue to remain shocked that frequent service is rewarded by solid ridership. If York Region actually went big on bus service, by a similar percent as BT and MiWay have done this year, then YRT would likely experience significant ridership increase.

Brampton Transit broke ground on the third MSF today. It is expected to be done in late 2027. I believe maximum capacity for buses has been forecasted for 2026, so we may see BT make a big push on 2026 24/7 service in order to make space for all the buses.

    Roads: GTA West Corridor—Highway 413

The pent up demand for the 401 is enormous, the required toll to bring the most congested sections up to an average of 50 km/h in rush hour would be significant, and likely reach Highway 407 East (non-ETR) pricing.

    VIVA + York Region Transit

once you stop thinking of VIVA as a transit project and more as a jobs program it stops being a disgrace, and more an ingenious plan to gyp the province out of billions of dollars.

Dundas St Rapid Transit (Metrolinx, Mississauga, Halton Region, CoT)

I charted the 1/501 ridership v the Dundas bus ridership. Caveat, BT ridership is from Fall 2023, MiWay ridership is October-December 2022 (that is what I had from Ryan). Regarding the LRVs, from what I understand, the Hurontario LRVs are two car consists at 200 per car, for a 400 per consist...

I am awaiting the big change in September, which should see a wide range of routes experience significant improvement. The June change was weighed down by the need to train 50 extra operators to cover the spare board, due to elevated absenteeism compared to before the pandemic. As that should be...
