    Kitchener 808 Courtland Avenue East | 102.6m | 30s | Zehr | ABA

Ah yes, the side of a freeway in the middle of an industrial park with poor transit access. Absolutely excellent.

great shot there of the Bloor & Dufferin development.

Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

I mean going by that map, most of Billy Bishop is between 76.08 and 76.91 metres ASL, so between 15 and 100 centimetres of the flood level. That 15cm measure is also the "minimum" for the colour category which in itself has a variance of 37 centimetres, so the lower elevations of the airport are...

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

yes, up until now the 407 has been adding expansions which were "future-proofed" into the original design. Since the design originally protected for them, they were relatively inexpensive. Those have now been exhausted between the 401 and 404, meaning the corridor is at it's "ultimate" build out...

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

If expansion was to a, say, 18-lane core-collectors system similar to the 401 south of Pearson, you would need a minimum corridor width of about 100 metres for the highway itself not including any merge lanes or collector-express transfers. That stretch is already 12 lanes and about 60 metres...

    Toronto Concord Sky | 299m | 85s | Concord Adex | Kohn Pedersen Fox

The design never changed when Concord took over to be clear - there was simply a bad rendering posted which was wildly mis-interpreted.

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

given the 407's private ownership it wouldn't surprise me if we see the company undertake privately-initiated expansions at some point as capacity goes overboard. At a certain point the revenue potential from additional capacity pays for any expansion. There is definitely room for a...

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

define "at capacity". I would be surprised if this tunnel operates at full traffic speed on day one, correct.. but will median travel times across the 401 corridor improve over going without it? Almost certianly.

    Barrie 10-24 Grove Street West | 85.55m | 27s | SkyDev | srm Architects

yea, they are starting a 300+ unit complex in Simcoe too. Building big in odd markets and at a time when nobody else is building.

    Toronto 543 Richmond Street West | 47.24m | 15s | Pemberton | BDP Quadrangle

Difference is that Pemberton hired a competent architect here and the City didn't allow them to build a borg-cube shaped massing.

    Toronto Ontario Line: Riverside-Leslieville Station | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | HDR

Getting rid of the bulky support beams between the road and sidewalk really open the underpass up and reduce the barrier feel of the rail corridor.

    QEW - Mississauga/Credit River Project

looking quite close to completion overall. I'd guess a Spring 2025 completion.

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

Dundas interchange starts construction next year. Morriston Bypass is in a continuous holding pattern for whatever reason. There are no real plans to upgrade 6 in between the two projects though. I think making it a RIRO a la 11/35 would work fine and be a lot cheaper than a full freeway...

    Hamilton 11 Robert Street | 19m | 6s | Yoke Group | Lintack Architects

Yea, grass never survives in these highly urban environments. That’ll be a patch of dirt in no time.

A family friend lives in this building. They have been enjoying it from what I hear.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

the station is dead as Metrolinx is building a layover yard in the area.

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

The globe portraying the 401 as being constantly widened is so misleading. The 401 remains substantially unmodified since 1968 when the GTAs population has nearly tripled. It technically went from 4 to 14 lanes since the 1960’s. but from the 1970’s, it’s entirely unmodified. I think there needs...

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

Westconnex is 6 lanes (well, 6+2 emergency lanes), others are 4-6.

Highway 401 Transit and Auto Tunnel

The finch LRT as currently built would take 3 hours to get from it's current terminus to Downtown Oshawa. That's not a practical application. The only real possibility would be some sort of GO RER service, and even then it has heavy limitations of potential.
