    Your opinions on this purchase?

I agree with dt condo geek. One thing he should definitely be doing if he hasn't already, is visit every new sales site in the area to see comparables. If he's still unchanged, then it's the right call for him. One other suggestion: Victory condos. (no 11 ft ceilings) oh, nice views from...

    Your opinions on this purchase?

You got a great deal on the westside unit. The 10.5 depth for the LR is a bit tight, but unlike your brother's unit, the sofa can back up directly against the wall. Has your brother looked into anything in Freedland? It's just a couple of blocks west and i think 400k can go a bit further.

    Your opinions on this purchase?

I think the M5V building will be beautiful and am looking forward to seeing it go up. However, if it were my brother, I would not advise him on making this purchase. First, in regards to the floorplan, I'm not fond of the LR/DR. 10 feet deep from island to window does not give you may...

I totally agree. What a change we've seen. My only hope is that developers and investors will take on some edgier designs. There have been a handful of nice ones, but I would love to see some designs that would make people's heads spin when they visit Toronto.

    $5 million condo hunt.

I don't see this as any different or worse than living in a Cityplace condo surrounding lower Spadina or the Yonge and Sheppard corridor. Yes, it will be busy but I'm pretty sure buyers know what they're in for. I'm also pretty sure some people welcome living right in the thick of it.

    $5 million condo hunt.

Under $5 million Well, if i had to slum it and go BELOW $5 million, my top three picks would be: 1. M5V condos Any one of the penthouse units with an inner patio that is open to the rooftop. They used to be listed on the website but have been removed. 2. 500 Wellington West Any unit with a...

Yup, my thoughts exactly 3 years ago. I couldn't fathom prices going above 400/sq ft. Oh well, now we know.

What makes you think it won't look as the buyer expects and why do you think it will be worth 20% less?

looking good This building is turning out well. I'm just not fond of the colour. In a few years it may look just as bad as the loft on King west of Bathurst

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

layout opinion I always liked this type of layout in a smaller unit. The wide windows across the living room/kitchen gives an open feel for a small space. This means a interior bedroom but I don't put much stock in a bedroom window. Besides, the unit is small enough that the bedroom is not...

Who would buy a 500~550 sqft condo?

layout opinion The layout is not so bad. In fact, there are good points about it. The kitchen is half open to the living room to give a large room feel, but since they are not actually aligned, the two areas will also will feel distinct. Also, I'm not a fan of walking right into the kitchen...

holy! Building's looking 'steep'! Maybe I shoulda bought here...wonder if there's any units left. Anyone know what the vertical yellow "bolsters" or pins on the terrace are for? Looks like they are trying to keep even distance between the floors like braces but wouldn't the concrete have set...

    Window Coverings

Another Blind Inquiry I'm glad i stumbled onto this page since I have a different window covering issue. Anyone know of a window covering solution that starts at ground and can move up in height? My problem is I would like a bit of privacy from the top floor of the building across from me...

pics Thanks for the pics drum 118. Building is looking sharp! Too bad it wasn't positioned in a more open space instead of lodged so tightly between other buildings. The angles and corners would show more dramatically.

    Condo boom now a bust

freed sale I noticed this too. First of all, i was very surprised there was a sale on new condos...on KING STREET WEST!!! I thought the reason he left out 550 was because 550 was selling fine on its own and he wasn't worried that the leftover units would go unsold very long after the...

updates? Anyone know what the status of this project is? I walked by yesterday and it doesn't look like much has changed. Just the same ol' crane standing in the pit.
