    Toronto 20 Front West | 175m | 52s | Brookfield | KPMB

This does seem to be for that SE-ish corner pictured, based on the address in that notice being 20-22 Front St West. I see this spot frequently and think about how it's a bit of an eyesore from most angles. Hoping for an iconic tower here. Though the front of the building is quite nice and I...

    Toronto Forma | 308m | 84s | Great Gulf | Gehry Partners

If I may ask, what's so terrible about the space? Doesn't seem bad from the outside.

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

It seems rare for such extensive work to occur on a condo site prior to sales even starting. There's a lot of work to be done to prep the site with facade retention and building demolition, so I suppose it makes sense. I wonder if they actually start digging down before sales - that would seem...

    Toronto The Well | 174.03m | 46s | RioCan | Hariri Pontarini

To echo the above, article in the Globe today says Shopify has a 15 year lease and it certainly implies there is no out clause. Has quotes from RioCan and Allied saying that Shopify is continuing to pay its rent and has not said it intends to break the lease. So maybe it sits empty for a few...

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

Although Menkes has clearly decided to go ahead with some site prep, Phase 2 hasn't even gone on sale yet so actual construction of the towers doesn't seem imminent. Menkes did include Phase 2 as part of their "what's coming in 2022" video released at the beginning of the year, suggesting they...

Toronto Bathurst Quay Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | Kearns Mancini

Oh wow, this is one of the most exciting things I've read on here in a long time. I actually walked around that area for the first time recently. Had no idea it existed before and thought it had a ton of potential to be something amazing but since I'd never heard anyone talk of the area I...

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Went across the bridge today. The pictures don't do it justice. Sounds cheesy but the best word I can use to describe it is 'whimsical', particularly when you look around and can see the river valley, pedestrian bridge, and canoe cove. Truly exciting.

    Toronto T3 Bayside | 42m | 10s | Hines | 3XN

Phase 1 broke ground in July 2020, with substantial completion set for Q2 2023. So approx. 3 years construction. Though I'm sure things could still change, 2027 completion for Phase 2 suggests construction would start in 2024. (Really interesting to see those Quayside dates too)

    Toronto 180 Queens Quay East | 75.5m | 22s | Rom-Grand Waterfront Ltd | a—A

Pros: 1. This is better than the previous iteration. The balcony krinkles are a nice touch to what was a very bland proposal. 2. The SPA says the ground-floor uses black granite, which would look sharp. 3. The SPA show pillars in the units, suggesting less spandrel. Cons: 3. While an...

Toronto Sherbourne Common, Canada's Sugar Beach, and the Water's Edge Promenade | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto | Teeple Architects

Taken just now. Apparently Sugar Beach has returned to its original form: a parking lot.

    Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

Drove by last night and the building's entire circumference is fenced off, with some heavy machinery around too. I'd say work is certainly started on turning that building into Sugar Wharf Phase 2.

    Toronto Pinnacle One Yonge Commercial | 170.8m | 40s | Pinnacle | Hariri Pontarini

I'm really concerned about how the Toronto Star building meets the ground level. The current ground level is horrible, with the retail cut off and raised a meter or so above ground level, and it's at one of the most important corners in the city. One of the reasons I was excited about this...

    Toronto East Harbour | 214.2m | 65s | Cadillac Fairview | Adamson

I think you are right based on what I last saw, but I've never quite understood that. I know it's probably not quite this simplistic, but since it's going to be a new school built on vacant land can't we just build it up higher to add more floors, classrooms, and even terraces for outdoor space?

    Toronto West Don Lands: Block 13 | 139.31m | 43s | Dream | Henriquez Partners

I really couldn't disagree with this feedback more. This is how we end up getting monotonous, boring buildings. The combo of brick gradient, sunshades, and staggered balconies is too much? Gradient will be toned down by making it monotone. Sunshades will be toned down by removing them...

    Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I spent the whole time scrolling through that thinking "all of this just for what will be a little building with a Pizza Pizza?". Then I finally got to the preliminary design and saw it was a pavilion with terraces and a restaurant (plus public washrooms, etc.) built into the hill. Quite cool!

    Toronto Time and Space Condos | 101.8m | 29s | Pemberton | Wallman Architects

What's the issue with them that required repair? Hadn't heard about this and can't find anything in the thread.

I think that might just be the pictures. In person it doesn't look grey at all.

Toronto Sherbourne Common, Canada's Sugar Beach, and the Water's Edge Promenade | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto | Teeple Architects

Agree with the comment that Sherbourne Commons South has good bones. Waterfront Toronto has commissioned a large art piece for the park, but last I saw it seemed to have shifted into the water, which is cool but I was looking forward to it adding some of the extra 'flare' that the park itself...

    Toronto Daniels Waterfront - City of the Arts | 156.05m | 45s | Daniels | RAW Design

Walked by today and it's still open and operating as usual, so not sure where this info came from. Their patio is a little deconstructed because the curtain wall on the building above is being cleaned up, but the patio wouldn't be open now anyways. Personally I've visited Against The Grain a...

Agreed, though I'll be interested to see the colour on a sunny day.
