    Bramalea City Centre

According to the girl at the Sherway Hollister, the Bramalea one is due to open at the end of September.. And no Mississauga locations are currently in the works :(

    Dead/Decaying Malls of Greater Toronto

Yep, and like I said, the construction has been done nicely. But the retail choices are poor. And I was there on a day when temps were in 30's and it was NOT pleasant. The stores luckily had air conditioning but the main part of the mall was like a sauna!

    Bramalea City Centre

Have you gone to Bramalea recently? Just going by the impression of Bramalea vs Square One, and I'd say Bramalea seems more... I dunno, higher quality? Not talking about the any of the stores in particular, just the overall image of the mall.. Of course, some of the folks who visit either mall...

    Dead/Decaying Malls of Greater Toronto

Indeed they did. The Eaton's became an OHL arena for the Guelph Storm, and the front half of the mall became a "market place" downstairs with doctors offices up stairs. The latter half of the mall still exists like it did in the 90's but with nothing of consequence in there. The architecture...

    Bramalea City Centre

I took pics, and forgot to post them back about two weeks ago.. And this is the inside of ForeverXXI - looks to be quite a ways from opening up:

    Mississauga (non-mall) Retail

Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me (wouldn't be the first time ;) ) but I thought there was a Rogers kiosk somewhere in the main level circle, near the Koodoo and Wind locations. Could be wrong of course.

    Mississauga (non-mall) Retail

Yep.. I suppose that's the main reason they wanted that location.. In Guelph they have a Bell World right across from a Rogers, with a Telus location next to a Koodoo kiosk and a Bestbuy Mobile coming right in between them! But regarding the EMTC, I'm surprised the Rogers location is so small...

    Mississauga (non-mall) Retail

Nothing much going on lately, but the Erin Mills Town Centre Danier has closed and will re-open up stairs in the Sears wing where Randy River was located. And coming in the Danier? Wind Mobile (YAWN). But something may be coming into the former Jacob location as all of the "displays" they had...

    Whole Foods

Well at this point, that's obvious... They seem to be working on overdrive though, as they were still pouring the sidewalks around the store on Friday when I drove by...

    Dead/Decaying Malls of Greater Toronto

Does anyone know what's going on at the Woodbine mall? More and more stuff is closed, and a friend who works at one of the stores there, says that the ownership is not renewing store leases! Meaning they don't want stores there to stay open? He thinks they'll tear the mall down. But having said...

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

Is that list official, or just speculation? Cause I'm not so sure SQ1 will get one? (just a feeling, no inside info)

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

I believe Sherway Garden's has Canada's first store.. They are more common in Europe if I'm not mistaken..

    Target

True.. Looks like they may turn into "Urban 90" stores. A new off-shoot that Walmart will be doing: http://www.thestar.com/business/companies/walmart/article/1014669--wal-mart-to-open-urban-store-buys-zellers-sites

    Target

But is there any space left? I mean, they've crammed as much (large) retail as they can in such a busy area. I would think someone like Home Depot or Rona would have to close before they could come in. Of course, I'm sure they'll find a parcel tucked away somewhere and just jam it in :-)

    Target

Interesting news that Target has sold 39 locations to Walmart: http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/story/2011/06/24/walmart-zellers-leases-target.html Now I don't know all that much about the US Retailer market, but I thought Walmart and Target were cut-throat competitors? Seems odd for them to...

    Mississauga (non-mall) Retail

Yes, I believe they opened on Friday?

    Mississauga (non-mall) Retail

FYI the new (slightly expanded) Guess has reopened at the EMTC. And the renovated GAP fully opened up about two weeks back. There is enough space in between the two for the Vero Moda as per the mall's floorplan.

    Whole Foods

I don't believe that date is correct. There's been a sign up for quite sometime saying "Opening Spring 2011". And driving by today, they were putting up the lighted signage on the store. Me thinks it will open up within the next few weeks max.

Krispy Kreme: the Rise and Fall

Well for me it's stuff I can pronounce. Tims is a great place but they had lot's of chemical or artifical ingredients in their stuff. Not that I let it stop me from eating there ;)

Krispy Kreme: the Rise and Fall

Well to put it into perspective, a regular glazed KK donut has 12 grams of fat. 3 chocolate chip cookies will have the same amount. Tims may have less fat, but they also have less real ingredients.. I've read Tim's ingredient list for their muffins and only two or three items (out of more than...
