Russia in 1910.. in Colour !

I like one comment left on that site: "I'm absolutely amazed! So, people 100 years ago weren't silly, quickly walking, black-and-white, mute creatures, they were as we are! These photographs show that the people and the world don't change.. Thanks God!" Indeed...

    Toronto Ontario Place | ?m | ?s | Infrastructure ON

I see, I thought it was 1.4m a year... Well, the one in Kiev is quite small, still there was a line-up at the counters and the displays were intersting and creative. Some ideas might be used here... Maybe we can get a tour on a little yellow sub... :) Most of Kiev's museum exhibits are subterranean.

A few years ago I attended a Water Musium in Kiev, it was both informative and fun. The museum is well-attended, 1.4 m visitors in 2014. Something similar might as well work in Toronto.

Waterloo Region Transit Developments (ION LRT, new terminal, GRT buses)

It is not due to crappy gas, you are mixing octane ratings in North America and Europe: here we calculate it differently (average of RON and MON) than in Europe (RON). So, Our 87 octane corrresponds to 91 in Europe. oops, was a bit slow to reply.. :)

They did: TBM Pre-Assembly TBMs Don and Humber are being lifted into mining position at the Brentcliffe site.

Same impression here... Used to live at Yonge and Sheppard for 6 years and while the area appears urban, it is very sub-urban in terms of pedestrian-driver priorities. Keep an eye on drivers turning from- and to- Yonge: they don't pay much attention to the pedestrians and assume that they have a...

    Toronto Union Pearson Express | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | MMM Group Limited

It beats me why would they still use wood ties... for brand new tracks! It looks (to me) as things from the past. I understand that historically they were primary material used in railroad construction, but isn't it time to make a change to concrete? It does not make any sense--economical...

agreed 100%! With midrise only at Yonge we will end up with Potemkin villages rather than Parisian-style blocks...

High Speed Rail: London - Kitchener-Waterloo - Pearson Airport - Toronto

I see the logistic challanges, but there are existing CN tracks (if I recall, there was a VIA service a few years ago...). Network--they (in France) had no HSR trains not that long time ago... In terms distance--logically, the shorter the ditance the less sence it makes to build HSR, isn't it?

High Speed Rail: London - Kitchener-Waterloo - Pearson Airport - Toronto

I am a bit curious why wouldn't they consider an HSR connection to Niagara Falls? With 22.5 mln visitors annualy it beats such place as Euro Disney (outside of Paris, 19.5 mln visitors in 2013) where you can take a high-speed train to CDG and number of other destinations...

    Richmond Hill Yonge Line 1 North Subway Extension | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

I have impression that the problem extends as far north as Sheppard and Yonge station. Each time I need to get on the southbound train around 7:30-8pm, I need to wait 2-3 trains before i can board. Well, I cannot claim it is always the case as I don't use this station regularly.

    TTC: Sheppard Subway Expansion (Speculative)

I was thinking that converting Sheppard Line to LRT might be done cheaper if Metrolinx finds/orders some modified, high-platform LRT vehicles, something like those in the picture:

agreed with SMT! The Y-S area is tall, but very pedestrian un-friendly (and I live there...), a concrete jungaloo of some sort. I hope it will gain a bit from the Hullmark and Emerald Park additions.
