And that’s wonderful for you- but what I’m describing is a desire path for distance. Before Marché Leo moved in, my guess was that 80-90% of anyone who lived in Canary District drove for groceries despite being 800m from the No Frills. It’s not about how you think people should be, it’s...

Hrm, fence open. And looks like they really are trimming this out for a parkette or dog park? Sooo, this project isn’t happening any time soon I guess.

Hope the red paint patinas quickly when I look back.

One last thing- change of pace, but I found these pics I took of T&T’s last weekend. 2020 pre-covid. Thought I’d share because of how damn quaint it all looked. Hard to imagine it was ever there. But we got a whole new bridge and river in its place.

Glad you brought up the whole walking distance thing. Because it IS a perception vs reality thing. I grew up with a bus stop across the street, and a bus stop down the block. Both were considered by my family to be within walking distance. If there was a road problem (accident or construction)...

    1. Is the plan to eventually get the concrete folks out? 2. Does the Bascule get replaced or affixed in place if/when the concrete place leaves? 3. Do we still want massive towers on an island when the third way off it can just randomly break down? 4. That last question does make me wonder. They...

That curvy bottom part is and always will be a restaurant, right? Or weird furniture store? Something akin to the weird expensive light store on Mill?

Really hope they get this going soon. I was looking at the trailers they’ve stacked in the east parking lot and trying to figure if they added more in preparation. If and when someone has plans for the school is that it’s own project thread or attached to this? And please god I hope they keep...

Getting chonky. 11 up. And we’re only a good ten years from not having to go 1-2km for work, medical care, services and amenities (snark that requires no replies)

This is the kind of thing that I wish would be shown to rebut the annual whining campaign about “Toronto hates fun”. Why are fences put up and sledding not allowed? Well if you want things you take care of them. Why is there traffic? Because if you want an elevated highway you need to maintain...

Toronto Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and Harbour Square Park | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

Saw a picture of a revamped Yonge & QQ yesterday, thought it looked nice then realized- oh that would mean a new path through the Ferry Terminal- wait is that still a thing? Then went through the Retail Review and noted it was listed as “past redesign not funded”. Totally forgot this project...

Something I’ve begun to wonder about- you see this with a lot of buildings where they’re halfway up on height but start putting up spandrels and cladding etc. buuuut then - meh, they stop. I imagine there’s reasons like staffing, supply, and some need for access or safety- it is there any...

Toronto St Lawrence Market North | 25.3m | 5s | City of Toronto | Rogers Stirk Harbour

BlogTO using a picture of the old North Market in a non-vintage post. Made me go back - its last day was 9yrs ago this June. So our south-south market tent is almost 9yrs old. Let’s hear it for the durability of tent. Looking forward to its 10th birthday next year.

First- I didn’t actually think these overhead lights were on, but they manage to be indirectly direct, no spillage. Next, they’ve put bollards at one part of the stretch. Something they need to do on as many sides of this lane as possible (but haven’t) Here’s a basic two level unit. Now...

It was barely perceptible by eye, but the time lapse (not great quality) and long exposure on the iPhone captured those images. Then the clouds rolled back in again

K, I’m confused. I went back to check the forum posts as the project page offers nothing to combat it here- but this looks like the podium is going to an 8th floor… every diagram has shown 6. They just forget to stop? Should I go tell them? This is the podium end, not the tower. What am I missing?

Did I miss a timeline for this bridge? Checked the waterfrontTO page, the CBC article- nada. I imagine the Parliament slip needs to be done first, as well as the landscaping and path on Villiers. So what, another 20yrs?
