Vaughan's not wrong but he ended by politicking a little too much for my liking. Not that I disagree with the politics he was espousing. It just seemed like the wrong time to bring up drug treatment in neighbourhood options that some councillors they want to support the motion might not agree...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

New post on Sun News' Ford Nation including Warren Kinsella calling Ford "too stupid to realize" that SNN is setting him up to fail is now up, if anyone's interested: Sun News' Ford Nation: Carnival Sideshow? Network Setup? Illegal Campaign Contribution? Or All Of The Above?

This would be great but is unrealistic. Even if he is charged with a crime the amount of time it would take to get to trial and to attain a conviction would be far longer than the time before the next scheduled election.

Not necessarily. It would probably trigger council just formalizing Kelly's position as interim mayor until next October. That's the direction they were going to go with Holyday last year if Ford's conflict of interest charges had stuck and he'd been booted permanently.

The top-tier candidates - Stintz, Tory, Chow, etc. - I would hazard to say are already in good position to wage an election battle. Thirty day campaigns are common with other levels of government as well - and yeah, I realize that party dynamics make those situations different, but they do give...

If Rob Ford wants a snap election I say we give it to him. Best solution possible I think.

Does anyone know what compensation story is for the Sun News show? I assume they legally have to do it for free but I can't find anything to corroborate that.

Clause A states: to act as chief executive officer of the City; This seems extremely vague to me. What exactly does this entail/confer as far as specific powers?

http://globalnews.ca/news/582404/mayor-rob-ford-dropped-as-coach-of-don-bosco-eagles-tcdsb/ It happened right after the original Gawker story. The school says that wasn't the direct reason though. Whether that's PR or whether that means there was something else, who knows. I think the...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

You're not wrong. I assume that's why he speaks so slowly during press conferences as well. But the fact that the people his brother is comparing him to are people in the broadcast controversialist business as opposed to, you know, other politicians or leaders of any kind, and you get a good...

I would guess there's some truth to that as far as the Fords' motivation. As for Sun News's motivation (beyond the obvious ratings-based one) is still up for debate.

I dunno. Community calendar works for radio because it's, well, radio. Television needs to be sexier. Now they've been very close to the vest with details about how it's being filmed or the format or much of anything about it. But I can't imagine they gave final editorial control to the...
