Hopefully they'll start cladding the next few floors soon. With respect to progress slowing, I know that when I passed by the site on Saturday there were a lot of workers there. I'd say I saw upwards of 30 cars parked on site, though there was no concrete being poured. Also, they are at...

The panels/cladding look fantastic. I was hesitant about the colour originally but it just seems to work so well. I can't wait to see the finished product.

    what is torontocondoforum?

Many of the posts are by "Condo Guide Toronto". Perhaps it's being run by the magazine (or at least an employee)?

London on the Esplanade Condos (Cityzen) - Real Estate -

It's things like this that remind me why I waited to find a project I not only liked, but was also backed by a reputable builder. Kudos Cityzen.

    Leaside

Passing by the site last night it is clear that they are in the process of gutting the entire facility. The interior is almost completely empty, with even the light fixtures having been removed. There is also a single piece of heavy equipment inside, presumably to do the demo work.

I actually had a chance to swing by the site today and they place was buzzing. I counted no less than 10 cement trucks plus a slew of other vehicles doing work on the cladding. They seem to be back up to full swing which is great news.

avatar.....did it live up to its hype?

The movie was fun, but it was in no way as 'epic' as so many have made it out to be. First off, it was way too long. The CGI/effects were in fact amazing, but I expect that quality from a sci-fi blockbuster in 2009. Finally, the story felt like its been told many times before. Anyone who has...

Shops at Don Mills (redevelopment, Giannone Petricone/Pellow + Associates )

My eye doctor is in the professional offices above the stores and when I saw him a few weeks ago he said that they're not overly happy with the new place. Their office used to be in the building above the Blockbuster Video (can't remember the address, but off the Donway). The office itself...

    Newtonbrook Plaza on Boxing Day

Yup, the same here. My friends and I would 'hang out' there many a nights. I remember when there was a Consumers Distributing in that plaza way back in the day......oh how I used to love flipping through their catalogues looking at all the toys.

Shops at Don Mills (redevelopment, Giannone Petricone/Pellow + Associates )

I've been back to DMC a couple of times in the past month and was pleasantly surprised to see that the entire mall was bustling. On both trips I actually had to circle for parking until finding a spot, and I wasn't being terribly picky. The few stores that we went into were quite busy with...

Next to Garbage Chute - thoughts?

The suite I'm in right now is next to the elevators and across a fairly large hall from the garbage chute. I can confirm that I can hear the elevators going up and down, but it's quite subtle. If you have the TV on or are cooking and have the exhaust fan on you'd never hear it. I'm...

I'm a little bit surprised that this project has received so little attention from the media. I have many friends and family who work in the core and none of them have any clue that this is going on. Considering the impact it will hopefully have on the skyline I would've thought it be bigger news.

Good Condos in North York and Surrounding Area

Not just a pool, but a lot of amenities which would make one assume the fees would be high. The main reason for the relatively low fees is the fact that two towers share the facilities and there are a large number of suites in each. My father actually served as the treasurer for a while and...

Good Condos in North York and Surrounding Area

My parents live at one of the older condos at DVP/Wynford and they love it. Because the building is a bit older, condo fees are relatively low when compared to many of the newer buildings in the area. This in turn means lower rent for those wishing to go this route. Their particular building...

Whats better? Higher floor or extra den

Does the 1st floor unit have a walk-out? From my limited condo research typically ground floor units carry a premium. What would the view be like at the 10th floor (what are you looking at)?

I think it's only common among the towers on the waters edge.
