    Toronto Aura at College Park | 271.87m | 78s | Canderel | Graziani + Corazza

I was glad to see more info on roof size. since they said 12m of roof, I would estimate the building is close to hitting 260m (assuming they're close to the final penthouse floor)

    Toronto 80 Bloor Street West | 263.4m | 78s | Krugarand | Arcadis

Looking at this building's rendering, I feel like black and white stripes of granite or marble would go very nicely on those sides, but the problem is we all know they would use spandrel. I do think the stripes would be better than the pixels of RCMI though even if they did end up using super...

as long as they keep the side without balconies as glass window wall I don't really care about the orientation. If those sides were to become concrete, plastic spandrel, or some other opaque non-reflective material on the other hand....this might become a record holder for world's tallest commie...

+1 on the roof/architectural lighting question. I would really like to know if that's going to be incorporated. Would also appreciate if they could tell us how many floors worth of mechanical-roof will be going up/how many meters of mechanical/roof.

the new ground floor looks like something out of city place. if the drp had their way the whole city would be one big city place.

the shape and form are pretty good but the up close cladding is not so good. the choice of white blinds for the areas with darker glass seems to really stand out, curious to see how that goes once the upper floors are occupied.

I still wish they had added 2 large trees on the roof like the render showed. The "living" shangri la label would have fit a lot better. I guess that would be unsafe though, with the possibility of limbs falling off the building.

Wow, that last shot by sMT is amazing, Once this current building boom is over I'd like to buy a super high quality print from that vantage point.

I'm willing to bet money that the vegetation shown on the various 2 level boxes never materializes. those always make it into renders but never actually get planted.

That's the thing, we shouldn't have to "HOPE", the developers made an agreement to install the public art feature and operate it, and so far they've only installed it. They are breaking promises with the city and legal action should be taken. It's been 6 years, this isn't a supertall this is an...

I think it may be the twin tower mania in southcore that causes that. doesn't look like they're planning to change direction anytime soon either, with harbour plaza and one yonge coming, both of which will have twin towers.

    Toronto One Bloor East | 257.24m | 76s | Great Gulf | Hariri Pontarini

well this is my last post on this topic as it's way far from one bloor now, but most of the noisy stuff is obviously landscaping since that's done outside, so nothing to do with homes deteriorating, and I don't think it raises overall property values when people chop down 100 ft. trees to build...

yes they love to start at 7 and do the noisiest tasks at that time (cement mixing, stone cutting, jackhammering), just because they can. my street has had continuous construction for 3 straight summers now. too many rich people doing renos and landscaping damn home improvement tax credits piss...

I'm wondering if those red steel girders will be visible after the top's finished.

really? I always thought the north or northwest was nice, there's a pic by "charles bodi" posted on page 105 a while back where the building actually looked half decent, although it was from very far away and from a plane. that angle seemed to have the highest black to "aqua grey crap" ratio.

ya that big concrete box in the forground really get's the imagination going. I wonder if that's where all the military hackers are holed up, working on their next attack.
