I hope the city fast tracks any proposals for tall buildings next to Aura. that way the lower 50 storeys of trash would be hidden nicely out of view.

I wonder what the rules are in Chicago..an actual world class city, and another big, great lakes city with room for urban sprawl.

I don't care what city gets these towers. I'd like to see them built here but if they're built somehwere else I'd still be happy as long as they get built. They look REALLY good. They're public art that people can live inside.

So all thats left to say on this thread is ya its ugly, possibly the ugliest large building on the skyline...and still not even finished after years and years...but at least the hotel gets high ratin gs on tripadvisor (facepalm)

Strange question. Wouldn't that imply the construction crews made serious errors executing the design? Someone would notice I think and make them fix it.

I thought this was a forum on architecture and urban development. What does the quality of the hotel rooms have to do with anything. I'm fairly certain people aren't rating their hotel experience on the aesthetics of this atrocious eyesore.

while we're completely off-topic, I'd like to point out the unique architecture of hong kong. Has anyone noticed the towers they put up are often 6-in-a-row of extremely tall buildings. yes toronto does a lot of double tower developments and also has commie blocks but hong kong takes it to a...

they said in there q&a a few weeks back that the roof would peak 40 feet above the penthouse floor, or ~12 m. Which would put the building at a little over 260m so far.

He's starting to sound senile. There must be at least 15 other major buildings worth saving and then there's st.george campus and the distillery district. Too bad. I wanted to see him make a valid argument not make a foolof himself. Hopefully they still approve some form of it and the project...

Is this project getting built for sure or are they just prepping it before they make a final decision and wait for more sales?
