Trust in your agent/best place to for s condo?

At the same time, I don't want to walk into Holt Renfrew and be limited to one sales person. I don't care if they served me first...if they're a twat, I want a new sales person! Unfortunately I had to do that once in Edmonton...fortunately Holt's often has very nice staff. I like the 'one...

Trust in your agent/best place to for s condo?

I received a personal email from realtor David Pylyp, and I quote: "You're a Lawyer and you encourage them to Avoid and ignore the law? You better crack another book open." I ask where exactly in "the law" it states that such an agreement MUST be signed between a potential purchaser and a...

Trust in your agent/best place to for s condo?

As long as you have provided some sort of authorization, you should be fine. I'm speaking as a lawyer. I agree that signing an exclusivity agreement with an agent may be a bad idea...especially with the stories I have just read above. If you don't have a personal relationship with an agent...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

From what I saw in the PDF drawings on the link I posted, I don't think Gucci's space is being reduced? They're just covering-over the interior windows as walls for Hermes. Otherwise, I think Gucci will be kept just as it was. Re: the Hermes/Tommy Bahama update: thanks Dane! If I were in TO...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

Wow, guess Hermes wants a larger store... according to this link, the new shop would be 4024 square feet. (http://www.dtzbarnicke.com/Client/JJB/JJBNA%20Web%20Listing%20db.nsf/9a00c805b85b76ef852570d80076bc0a/0330099cd0085af0852571a9004e0591!OpenDocument) The current Hermes shop is 2237 square...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

So I inadvertently came across info that Cartier is now located where Lacoste was at 108-131 Bloor Street West? Did Cartier also take the space of the jeweler next door (Mappin's or People's, I forget). I ask this because the Lacoste space was fairly small at under 1500 sq ft, according to the...

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

For some reason these Kors shops seem to be mostly in suburbs...both in Canada and the US. I doubt, unfortunately, you'll see one in Yorkville any time soon.

News on retail chains (was: New Mall Retail)

A/X Armani Exchange will be opening at the Toronto Eaton Centre. I just came accross this job ad, looking for Eaton Centre Managers: http://www.canadianjobs.com/my.job/searchJobsControl/keywordField=Store%20Manager%20(Toronto%20Eaton%20Centre) Wikipedia says Yorkdale will be getting a Tiffany...

    Bloor-Yorkville Scene

For some reason, Bloor between Bay and Yonge has lost its 'cachet' in recent times. The same could be said for Bloor in general. Before I left Toronto about a year and a half ago, I had high expectations for such retail locations as 150 Bloor (now Puma), 144-146 Bloor, and a few others. Now with...

    Hudson's Bay Company

Now now, that's gossip and I seriously doubt Holt Renfrew would bother with that location. No one else has mentioned this... where did you hear this "news"?

    Ralph Lauren / Polo

Interestingly enough, A&F Canada was owned by Woodward's, a Western Canadian department store. When the Bay bought out Woodward's in the early 90's, it closed A&F Canada's four stores (Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal). A&F's flagship location was an anchor to Vancouver's Oakridge...

Did anyone get very bad Customer Services from Daniels Homes' Customer Director?

This rude customer service person should be fired. This thread concerns me in general. I'm very influential, and I'll be counselling potential purchasers to NOT purchase a new unit in a Daniels project, if at all possible.

    Chicago - 26 shootings in 48 hours April 19-20

The comment may be misguided, but on the other hand, how many gay males are involved in gang shootouts? That's more what he was getting at... OF COURSE not all heterosexual males are involved in obnoxious and violent conflict, LOL! OK maybe in Texas.

    Rob Ford Arrested

I donno...I think he should remain in office. He's Toronto's Ralph Klein. He's GREAT to make fun of... I was so sorry to see Ralph go. I mean, it's people like Ford and Klein that can make politics fun. Or at least humorous ;)

    Toronto Fly Condos | ?m | 24s | Empire | Graziani + Corazza

I just got this one off google. Not the best photo. A lot of elbow grease is all it needs ;) http://illegalsigns.ca/wp-content/uploads/231.jpg ps I have no idea how to make this into a picture that shows on the site :( I suck.

    Separate cars from streetcars

You're thinking about North America, only...there are many European Cities I've been to that have AMAZING pedestrianized streets, some with 'transit only'. Central Vienna is a prime example. The Zeil in Frankfurt is another. Central Strasbourg is very lovely... I could go on ;) Granville is a...

    TTC as a landlord...

It could be possible...if newly-granted city powers provide for greater planning control, and density is profitable enough for developers, it might just work. My understanding is the new Portlands provide design guidelines for which developer (s) would adhere? I would hope the same would happen...

Vancouver Surpasses Toronto and Montreal in City Brands Index

Vancouver DOES have a sense of place, given its geography. Toronto can't match that. But Toronto does have such things as red streetcars...something I dearly miss. Hope Toronto never looses those...they definitely add character, no matter how slowly they go ;)

    TTC as a landlord...

This may be in another thread. Toronto should REALLY be doing this...I know it's been discussed before, but COME ON! I mean expenses are so high for the TTC and funding so limited...it makes sense...
