    Church-Wellesley Village

Was it always like this? I found it totally ridiculous that they let streetcars through. Hello? Road closures? I left after 1.5hrs.

    Church-Wellesley Village

This has been rumoured for ages. It can never happen (I don't think) like Montréal where they close down entire streets as there are too many residences on Church and Toronto's by-laws (oh, those crazy by-laws) don't allow for that. I am not sure if that's the reason for it, though. It very...

Finally, an art piece that looks good. Lol. Simple, to the point, effective.

TD was a supporter of Pride since the late 90s. BMO has supported the Pride Run almost since its inception. As an employee of BMO, trust me — it's a big deal for a Bank to support anything gay. We still get letters opposing our support of Pride or any gay-related charities, events...

    Church-Wellesley Village

But wasn't it declared a heritage building and that is why they had to change the name to Victoria pub or something?

    Church-Wellesley Village

It looks like they got rid of the upstairs. That's what it looks like when walking by and glancing at it. An expensive reno doesn't mean a good reno. Lol. It just means that there was some work to be done — in this case getting rid of the top floor. If they get rid of the two seats by the window...

Changing the name of Union Station would be incredibly dumb. It UNIFIES the two lines, hence the name. It is at the centre (sort of ) of the city and unifies the east and west. Are they seriously considering this?

    Aeropostale

Female 14-year-olds from the suburbs. They're very niche. ;)

    Restaurant Tipping Etiquette

Oh, HELL no. That's just crass. And too much. In my book, excellent service is 20%; good is 18%; adequate is 15%. Poor service is NO TIP.

    Restaurant Tipping Etiquette

Exactly. I usually tip (18-20%) on the final post-tax price. I've been told that one should tip pre-tax, but I keep on forgetting. Lol. Definitely a loonie per drink at a bar.

Hahahahahaha! If you're not joking then change the hahas to boo-hoos.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Oh, no. :( They should just leave it white. Seriously. The white tiles are looking better than they were earlier. I like the tree there with the round concrete seating (cause that's what it should and will be used for). But no more murals! Lol.

Church Mouse revamp. What do we think? I like the elevated patio and the new floor. I'm not liking the fact that they took away the iron fence and replaced it with some Plexiglass (?) strips. Hopefully, they don't stray from being and feeling like a pub and more toward a bar.

    Church-Wellesley Village

For me it's (so far) just another horrible revamp of Church St (the murals, the copper street signs, the 'gate poles'...) Will have to judge when it's completed but so far (for me) it isn't looking that great. The only things I've liked that has come out of that Church St revamp group (what are...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Oh, that's too bad. I walked past that place every day for 12 years when I lived at Jarvis & Isabella. I never bought anything from there (Lol) but it was always busy and offered an alternative to the "south Church" café scene.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Maybe it will look better when it's all done. But, so far...

And here I was thinking a park should just be a pretty, clean, safe place to sit and play in. :p (Honestly, I haven't seen it yet.)

    Church-Wellesley Village

No. I'm saying that even though we may not be the 'warmest' city, we have other good things going for us.

    Church-Wellesley Village

Toronto isn't 'friendly', true. It's more 'polite' — which is not the same thing. Having said that, I'd rather have cold and lacking in charisma city than a crime-riddled (which we aren't in comparison to other cities our size) or dirty (still, cleaner than a lot of cities out there) city...

    Church-Wellesley Village

Meh. I like texting and communicating online with friends. If we didn't have that option I wouldn't speak with my friends that often. As it is I see them only once a week (weekends) due to schedules, work, etc., and that's only my really close friends. It's not always the doom-and-gloom...
