We're getting quite off topic but I'll add, drivers in Toronto can hardly figure out how to work their headlights, much less make a proper turn at an intersection or follow regulatory signs.

Quick update at the south leg of the Yonge and Eglinton intersection from yesterday, October 22nd.

Somewhat of an unremarkable development but happy to see further densification along this stretch of Dufferin Street. State of the site this evening.

^ Agreed. Apart from developing full U-turn facilities which still require encroaching onto the streetcar right-of-way, every banned left turn results in three right turns at other intersections, usually through minor residential streets. Not sure how that's a preferable solution.

It is sad to see all of those lost trees though, feels like they could have been more efficient with the available space.

I'm trying to understand this. Is the bidirectional facility on the one side for the small section to provide a connection for those traveling from Bartlett eastward to Havelock?

Totally agreed that the suburbs need to do a better job of providing safe and comfortable cycling facilities. Like look at the size of the boulevard there! Why isn't it being used? Why wouldn't the cycle track be adjacent to the sidewalk, with extra separation between active transportation and...

For comparison, the Brampton Heritage Heights plan was approximately 105 metres right of way, although that includes BRT lanes. Still would be a nightmare crossing a 105 metre wide intersection in an "urban area" as they propose.

Pretty unpleased with the plans for surface treatment along the central portion of the line. I thought the whole idea of putting it underground was to retain space for streetscape and pedestrian realm improvements. I'm all for adding in a bike lane, removing street parking, and retaining two...

I really wish they just did away with the parking lanes on Danforth. Would much rather have an extra travel lane or left turn lanes where needed.

I find the GTA signage to be fairly consistent and clear when they label a must-exit or either-or lane. I guess it's all relative, trying to read a big sign across the highway like that strikes me as less intuitive.

I drove along Eglinton from Yonge to Allen Road on Tuesday. Was thinking of posting the dashcam footage but there's honestly so little visible progress over the last ~six months. Barely any workers visible either. No idea how they will get this opened by end of year, the surface conditions are...
