The crossovers at the MSF site on the mainline are able to facilitate diversionary movements in case of disruption.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

One of the biggest factors of the King Street Pilot is to prevent people from driving straight through intersections (or turning left) and if there's a red light, and you drive into the intersection, you have run a red light. The light doesn't have to change for it to mean that you've run the light.

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

The official response is actually concerns from the accessibility community. I would personally argue that faster closer would actually be more accessible because it's more predictable what will happen once the chime sounds with minimal delay.

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

I would expect this to be solved with the universal deployment of plate reading technology that seems to be in progress, given that HOT permits are issued and not instant.

    King Street (Streetcar Transit Priority)

That's likely the piece of the puzzle that will make this approach semi-work. Once the red light cameras are active, a couple of weeks will likely be all it takes to change behaviour. Although, the new set up is still confusing for people, compliance will come with enforcement.

    VIA Rail

I think this is less of a commentary on maintenance and cleaning practices and more on the prevalence of passenger based rail transit. Where it serves a much larger population, with greater turnover at lower cost.

I'm not sure where you're getting that information, but it is definitely not universal. Hours are scoped in the workplan for public consultations at base rate even the ones held in evenings.

    Toronto Park Lawn GO Station | 12.83m | 2s | First Capital | Hatch

This strict modal thinking really needs to stop. Transit should function as a network, detailed calculations are done to determine if additional stops should be added and balanced against the people inconvenienced. In transit, there is no such thing as cannibalizing ridership, it only means that...

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

They do technically have some form of priority at the moment. The new transit signals are more intended to facilitate the use of automated enforcement and also "reduce confusion".

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

Not to detract too much from the topic of Finch West LRT, but I find it quite intriguing that "light metro" has still been used to describe the Ontario Line rolling stock. While they are smaller than the metro that Toronto is used to, they function fully as "regular" metro internationally, and...

They have been removed in some images to better showcase the trains. You will see them in other station renders.

I was referring to the fact that LRT stands for Light Rail Transit and BRT stands for Bus Rapid Transit :P

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

It's about timescale. While sometimes effects can be immediate, it often times is not. That's why you have to dig a little deeper.

    Finch West Line 6 LRT

I mean the R in LRT is not equivalent to the R in BRT. Semantics, but only BRT describes speed.

    TTC: Other Items (catch all)

It's all about priorities. These are challenges I face everyday, the transportation field doesn't need "innovative" solutions; it needs to apply existing internationally proven solutions.
