GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Don't they still need to shut down the rail path to add the 4th track in that area?

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Oh man. The day that area gets to its final configuration will be a day of celebration!

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

I'm not sure if the current track would make it possible to do this. The station area isn't double tracked so Train 1 would need to come in, unload, load, leave, and travel a fair distance to reach the double track where Train 2 could then come into the station (which defeats the whole purpose...

I mean they could start by at least matching the service level they provided last year. 3 round trips now vs 4 trips last year is honestly silly.

Off topic question. When you cross the border with your bike, do you cross as a vehicle or a pedestrian walking over? I've been thinking about doing a bike ride in Buffalo but have no idea how to get my bike over without a car.

Not neccesairly. With the Niagara train, a lot people could be paying by using the weekend pass.

Anyone know how I can ask if the city could put a bike station somewhere near St. Claire and Avenue? I know it's not a super bike friendly area but they can definitely put a bike station on some side street in the area. St Claire and Avenue is a dead zone where the closest station is ~600m away...

    Roads: Ontario/GTA Highways Discussion

If you look at the old street view images, it looks like it used to be structural....though why only that section is a little odd.

I vaguely remember someone asking Metrolinx about this and they said the bridge can handle the MP40s. I might be misremembering though.

On a similar note, looks like weekend Niagara trips have been cancelled until further notice: https://www.gotransit.com/static_files/gotransit/assets/pdf/TripPlanning/FullSchedules/10012022/Table12.pdf

    GO Transit Electrification | Metrolinx

I think it's simply "because they can". They own the entire corridor.

The foundations for the electrical poles are already on the guideway so it seems like a no brainer...but this Metrolinx we are talking about.

Sorry I'm new to this train stuff and still trying to figure out the names but isn't Canpa farther west? This pic is from the Barrie line.

From what I understand, only one is used.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

From what other users have said, the reason the train has 2 locomotives is in case one fails on the stretch between Kitchener and London. Because that stretch of track is so far away for GO's network, getting buses out there would take way too long. If they departed with one loco, there is...

Doesn't the London train run with two locomotives to avoid this exact issue?
