The date on the short is 7 days ago, which was when 214 was reported as being changed off. I was on the train hauled by 631 on Monday and 214 was not on it. Please don't share out of date information as being current.

Has 214 returned to service? If not it's not a question of chances. If you know the locomotive it's behind and it's in service it will be a 100% chance.

Even if the line does hit capacity, tunneling the eastern section at great expense seems to be the nuclear option. I would not expect this to happen before 2060, even if it was necessary. We've been dragging our knuckles on the DRL for about 50 years, there is no way I can see the eastern...

Line 7 is supposed to be the vapourware Eglinton East LRT. No idea what lines 8 and 9 will be but you can rest assured they will not be built in the natural lifespans of 90% of the forum.

I agree with all of this, but it boggles my mind that the driver wouldn't bother to do even a cursory check of their incredibly heavy death machine before setting out onto the roads. I feel so safe. :eek:

As I found to my cost just now when I went out to photo it and found 255 on the consist. Is there any online page or group that is tracking this? It would be nice if there was a more efficient way of finding out whether such cars are in service rather than standing at Union station and just...

I agree. The Sheppard subway was a boondoggle that should never have occured. There is no point in extending that boondoggle further out.

Eliminating transfers is the only thing that matters. Doesn't matter if it makes the passenger experience worse (see also - the Milton GO bus), as long as we don't experience the horror of transferring everything else is all good.

We will find out if we ever upload the subway to Metrolinx. I don't like the TTC, but anyone who thinks Metrolinx are our allies is in a fantasy world.
