    Rob Ford's Toronto

I think it's some sort of dog whistle to Ford Nation. Kitchen table common sense (which we ALL have, even the "regular Joes") vs. a formal education/training (which the "elites" have). I really dislike Stintz.

Who can shout the loudest! And now folks can text their something or other. Brutal.

Thanks for posting this here! They deleted my original at the Sun. I'm going to repost now...

This makes sense. But would it have been possible for Morris to view the tape without Ford present?

I posted on that story, but I wouldn't interpret the overwhelmingly negative reaction to Ford's latest stupidity to mean that he doesn't have his supporters at the Sun. I think his supporters are just too demoralized right now to get into it with the anti-Ford commenters.

The "let's get Rob Ford a new job" thread.

Porno actor. The Sun had an article some time ago about a porno actress who said she wanted to work with Ford: "He’s like a big teddy bear. Who couldn’t think he is cute?" Doug could spin it as being a "tasteful" porno (no matter what company produced it, you can be sure they'd be the "best...

It's also "politically relevant" -- and as an added bonus true! -- to mention that a candidate knowingly spreading lies is a sorry douchebag.

As much as I hate Warmington, at least "Ford sycophant" is some sort of a stance. Mike Strobel is worse. He's got nothing. Imagine telling crap comedian Kenny Bania (of Seinfeld fame), "Find something in the news and write some gags about it, and try to make the gags anti-liberal." That's...

I know it was inadvertent, but I thought I'd highlight an actual truthful statement from Dougie. So rare to come across one of these!

Does The Surreal Life still air? Or that Dr. Drew thing where he counsels substance abusers? I could see Ford on one of those "ensemble" reality programs, getting into shouting matches with Jose Canseco, Andy Dick and various porn stars. I don't think he could carry his own show, though.

I thought Paikin did a decent job for the most part (certainly better than Mansbridge, who didn't seem half as informed as the average UT member). Paikin was polite but he asked pointed questions and gave Dougie enough rope to hang himself with. One thing I didn't like was when he pressed...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yes, lowered expectations. This reminded me of the Conservative MP who tweeted, approvingly and without irony, how "alert" Ford looked during the ice storm. As if Ford were not the mayor of a large city, but a resident in a nursing home blowing out candles on his 92nd birthday.

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Yes, there are Ford supporters who say this (more than a few commenting on Sun articles): "I haven't seen the video, have you? No? Then how do you know it exists?" That sort of thing. Apparently they think Ford was "bluffed" into admitting the crack smoking.

Ripped, I'm glad we have someone here to speak for the voiceless. The rich bashing can at times be unbearable. Are you familiar with Tom Perkins? He's like this century's Raoul Wallenberg...

Love your posts, Jimmi T. You've got great info and a good writing style. Have you ever thought about putting something together on Ford? A book, or a long magazine piece?

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Last summer my wife and I celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary, but I admit, I've been "on the fence" all my life. This afternoon, walking past City Hall and seeing that rainbow flag flapping so flamboyantly in the crisp winter wind, I was influenced to leave my wife, Eve, and move in with...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Reminiscent of John Cheever's short story "The Swimmer." Only replace all the swimming pools with pubs.
