Agreed. I certainly think the focus of the media next week will be the criminal aspect of all this, but too many crazy unsubstantiated rumours are flying around right now and we should be careful. But still, to a point it's fair that with so many insanely ridiculous but justifiable questions...

It's already been said that Ford's substance abuse problems have been the worst kept secret in Toronto politics. I've personally known about his problems for years, at least with alcohol. It has been willful ignorance on everyones part.

But if the Fifth Estate episode is so important in the greater context of everything here, I don't see The Star scrapping their story. Hell, they still probably know things about the topics last night that nobody else does. They've been on this since day one, and very blunt in letting people...

All comes back to the point that a government official who put's themselves into a position like this opens themselves to blackmail. Mafia-type people probably wanted the video to gain a hand over the Mayor. They wouldn't want money to keep it quite, they would want favours.

Yeah, I believe the initial argument for that was the high profile aspect of any investigation into the Mayor and they wanted their best guy on it, and not to read into the homicide angle too much. Buuuutttttt...... Anthony Smith.

I suppose this could be true, yes. But keep in mind we're talking about ROB FORD. Everyone has said from day one he would be in it till the bitter end. Then again, maybe everyone knows something their not talking about.
