Based on this photo, I don't see how Broadview could be integrated with an RER on the Don Branch. Where would you put the RER station? There's no room for platforms beside the red line. You can't easily move the line to the right (West) because of the grading and environmental issues...

I think a waterfront west LRT makes sense as far as Humber, where it could interchange with a (future) GO RER stop.

The cynic in me expects that in a few months, Rogers or Bell will decide to put in new cables. They'll dig up the new pavement and leave the street with a narrow asphalt strip running parallel to the curb.

Mobility Hub? Metrolinx came up with some plans for the area as a Mobility Hub. The latest documents I could find were from 2011 and 2012. Do you know if there are actually plans to implement the recommendations? Or is this another study collecting dust...

To my chagrin, GO has invested money in extending platforms to accommodate longer trains instead of investing money to run shorter trains more frequently. I'm glad to see their philosophy changing with the overdue push to move towards RER.

How are the design standards set for a given speed? Have the highway design standards changed as automotive technology has evolved? I would imagine that a 2015 automobile can handle tighter curves and stop quicker than a 1970 automobile.
