Since the airport bus is added, why not add the UPex too?

GO Transit: 50 Possible Sites for new Stations

    A plan like this? http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/portal/contentonly?vgnextoid=b5c8edbc901e4410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD&vgnextchannel=82e352cc66061410VgnVCM10000071d60f89RCRD

GO Transit: 50 Possible Sites for new Stations

Slide 32 lists the assumptions made for analyzing the performance of the potential new stations. The assumptions are: These assumptions are a major flaw in the study. Realistically, we will have RER service and a new fare structure by the time any new station is approved, designed, tendered...

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

After years of paying lip service to "fare integration", they are still defining the scope and surveying different types of fares. It's ridiculous how slowly this is progressing. I feel like that presentation represents less than a week of research done, and they've been talking about this for...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Lake shore west, Lake shore east, and Barrie are the only lines that run on weekends. There should be more than enough 12-car trains. I get that it's hard to plan service for the end of a Jays game (because the end time is uncertain). With a TFC game or event at the CNE, it should be more...

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Took the train home from Exhibition last night. Thousands of people on the platform waiting for a train, but for some reason GO was running 10-car trains instead of 12-car trains. It was packed like the Yonge Subway during rush hour.

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

I asked about this earlier. Up until a month ago, the highway traffic act did not allow for bicycle signals. The bill that now allows for these signals received royal assent on June 2 (likely after the current signals were procured). Hopefully we will see modifications made so that we have these.

What is the status of Bill 173 that was going to allow for bicycle traffic lights like these http://images.nymag.com/news/articles/reasonstoloveny/2010/rtlny101222_number21_250.jpg ?

Improving GTHA Transit via Tech (Apps, Maps, Real-Time Traffic & Transit ETAs)

Not sure if this is the right thread. I looks like the TTC will soon be launching Android and iOS apps for purchasing electronic day passes on your mobile device. Instead of showing a paper day pass, you'll be able to show the pass on your phone to a collector or driver...

Keep in mind that the square to the right of the VIA logo will probably soon contain the UPex logo.

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

The GO station is a fair walk from most of the condos in Liberty Village. This doesn't surprise me at all. I would expect ridership would be higher if there was a station on the Kitchener line (at King Street) or if they improved pedestrian access to Exhibition GO from the East.

I think that union station will be plastered with posters and billboards advertising the UP Express service. Anyone entering the station with their eyes open will know what the Up Express is.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

Would Metrolinx be able to expropriate a rail line from CP (e.g. the Milton Line)?

    GTHA Transit Fare Integration

Wow. That's it?! It seems like so little has been done on fare integration over such a long time. I can't see any "transformational" fare integration happening without a greater fare subsidy from the government. No one has addressed this, and the governments have not financially committed.

Would be great for one of those renovated Shopper's Drug Marts that have fresh produce, food to go, etc.

    Toronto Queens Quay & Water's Edge Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

The City is studying it. See http://www1.toronto.ca/City%20Of%20Toronto/Policy,%20Planning,%20Finance%20&%20Administration/Public%20Consultation%20Unit/Studies/Transportation/Humber%20Bay%20Shores%20Park%20Trails/Lake%20Shore-Stanley%20Panels.pdf It's not feasible to go along the lake, but...

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

They already did public meetings for Davenport in 2009 (http://www.junctiontriangle.ca/sites/southjunctiontriangle.ca/files/images/DavenportDiamondGrade_OpenHouse1.preview.jpg). Are the new public meetings for the remainder of the line? Can Metrolinx proceed with construction of the grade...

    Toronto Crosstown LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx | Arcadis

Is the TTC considering adjusting some of its routes to avoid construction? For example, having the TTC 54 bus going up to York Mills Station (via Leslie St and York Mills Rd)

    Toronto Kipling Station Transit Hub | ?m | 2s | Metrolinx | SAI

In the short term, Cloverdale makes sense. The station could have dedicated connections to the 427 onramps, and this would improve miWay express and TTC rocket services.
