    Netherlands: Waalpanorama (aA)

You're welcome! I know of no other developments in both the Netherlands and Europe that are similar to the one in Den Bosch. The names 's Hertogenbosch and Den Bosch are used interchangeably. You can use whichever one you prefer. In writing, 's Hertogenbosch is usually used, it is the more...

    Netherlands: Waalpanorama (aA)

Also, the building to the left in your first picture reminds me of Mahler 4 Viñoly in Amsterdam.

    Netherlands: Waalpanorama (aA)

That Clear Spirit project in Toronto looks very nice. Anarcho, it also reminds me of Dutch architecture, especially the pillars that support the tower. We see that a lot here in Rotterdam. You say that you believe that you've seen a similar design in the Netherlands. Just maybe, that could...

    Netherlands: Waalpanorama (aA)

Very interesting website. They also have a project in The Netherlands: I think this development will really stand out in the city, as it currently hasn't got any significant highrises. Plus, the design is really beautiful IMO:

Interresting pictures! I especially enjoyed looking at the ones from St. Catherines, a few of my Canadian relatives grew up there.

    Queensday in Amsterdam

My friends and I went to Amsterdam yesterday to celebrate Queensday. It's the most significant national holiday in the Netherlands, and the events arranged in Amsterdam are massive. The weather was great and there were around 500,000 people walking around in the innercity, according to the City...

Cargo trams in Amsterdam (light rail freight)

It's a shame that LCL freight, transported via trams, was stopped in Toronto. Somehow it seems the concept of transporting freight with trams, which is nowadays perceived to be progressive, is just an idea from a past era in which we weren't so focussed on cars.

    High-Speed Rail Proposals

Interesting news. The idea of high-speed railway lines both in Alberta and along the Windsor-Quebec City corridor is appealing. I'm not sure if 'if you built, they will come' holds true in the Canadian context. Perhaps a change in mentality is also needed, I don't think that people will...

Cargo trams in Amsterdam (light rail freight)

In Amsterdam, tests began on the 7th of March, to transport cargo via trams (streetcars). During 4 weeks, 2 trams will supply stores and companies via a fixed route through the city. This isn't a new phenomenon in Europe. Dresden (Germany) and Zurich (Switzerland) already have operating cargo...

Portsmouth Football Stadium - Herzog De Meuron

Even though I find the location and the design of the stadium itself very original, you could probably fit a couple of city blocks on that location. The stadium takes up a lot of space. It is good though that that space isn't used solely for soccer matches, but also for appartments. Otherwise...

042007 Spring has Sprung in Toronto (Victorians Galore!!)

Thanks again for the pics... good to see so many people walking around! I guess the better weather really brings the city to life. Also, how are events like 420 treated by the authorities? I read that Canada was moving towards decriminalization of marihuana, but I don't know how things are...

    Berlin - Pt. 3 - General Pics

This is the last one of my 3 threads about Berlin, and my first thread here at the new forum. Flying into the city View from the hotel Potsdamer Platz' skyscrapers and the Fernsehturn in the distance. A shopping street in the west of Berlin, the 'Wilmersdorfer Strasse'...

Glad to be here too! New name is Ronald, my old name was ronald1987. I only added the 1987 in the first place because the name Ronald was already taken at the old board. This time I've got that name ;)
