    Rob Ford's Toronto

I'm done work now, so I can write slightly more coherently about this rally. It's very easy to repeat the message a lot of Toronto has been chanting in unison for three years. All of it might be true, and there might still be ammunition in those messages. However, since that message has been...

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Simple... What: We demand that Rob Ford step down from his Mayoral duties Why: For his own sake and the city's sake ... and a rationale that explains how his behaviour affects the city and how it affects him.

One thing that might help: I've been trying to coax the reporters and columnists I follow on twitter to interview and publish the opinions of addiction experts. It might be good for the rally to have a person who can speak on these issues, how Ford's behaviour fits what they've seen before, and...

You do that by taking ownership of their message (e.g. if you love him so much, help him save himself and the city we all love...)

    Rob Ford's Toronto

Sorry for butting in...I'm mostly a lurker... There's also the compassionate angle. The group needs to show it's not a personal vendetta against Ford. He should step aside for both the city's sake and his own sake. His behaviour and that of his circle is textbook addict/enabler behaviour. That...

If I'm counting correctly, they've poured the 75th floor and are working on the walls. I think the western cladding is up to the 64th floor. AFAIK, the residential floors are still going up to 78, and then (I think) 6 mechanical floors to top it.

I tweeted Fragedakis (I'm in her ward) urging her to support Ainslie, and she replied: "Absolutely!". It's kind of weak, but at least she said something.

Kouvalis is pretty rough around the edges. Never think of him as an intellectual, but never underestimate his smarts. Just think "driven", "smart" and "evil".

The issue is that most people won't bother looking at the line's layout, but they'll form a perception from whatever message dominates. Ford (or Kouvalis...Ford has no clue) is very good at shaping these messages with populist catch phrases.

Podiums are big, complicated, big footprint things. Progress is slow to the naked eye. Patience is the word!

Didn't the original renderings include an Apple store? I think that's where it all started.

This link is making the rounds on Twitter. The story is supposedly from when his sister's boyfriend got arrested. http://fuckrobford.blogspot.ca/2012_01_01_archive.html?m=1

Also, procedurally, a NO vote buries the issue and forces 2/3 vote for revival. A mere postponement does not achieve that.

Also notice the flat tops on the Ice towers.

But, isn't that their prerogative? If you don't like the fact they charge for plastic bags, you have two options: 1. Don't shop there 2. Bring your own bags. If the fee ends up reducing the amount of plastic bags used, we all win...

Yes, you're both correct. I walked south from King. There were a few weeks in the late winter/early spring when you could actually get into the park, and check out the pavillion, ponds, berms, etc. Just the sheer size of the place was already impressive at that point, but there was no vegetation...

I walked down River Street as far as the fences would let me, and the amount of vegetation they've planted is HUGE! ... Looks like a lot of local grasses and shrubbery with a few young trees here and there...I was impressed!

ASCII code is 207, so just enter 207 while holding down the Alt key (like this: Ã). Note: this only works with the number pad on the right hand side of your keyboard (doesn't work with the top row of numbers). If you're using a laptop, it might be easier to go to Word, click on "insert"...

I was looking for information on H&M (the retailer), and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:H%26M_Tokyo_Ginza_Store.jpg I guess there's a source of inspiration for everything...
